Throughout my life I have encountered a few people who dated/had a long-distance relationship with someone in another country, but I always figured it was fairly rare. I guess it's understandable that people tend to broaden their horizons and expand their possibilities that way if they get boo'd in the country they live in for even just dating someone from another ethnicity, let alone start a relationship with them. Here in the Netherlands it used to be (considered to be) perfectly drinkable, though over the last few years it has become more apparent that there is a staggering amount of PFAS chemicals in tap water due to the chemicals used in various manufacturing industries, to the point where government health authorities advise: "If you can afford it, at the moment it's healthier to drink bottled water." For this reason, the governments of The Netherlands and several other European countries have recently officially decided to ban the use of PFAS chemicals, although this ban cannot be implemented until 2025 at the earliest, and even then it can take several more years for industries to phase out the use of it.
