I, and some others, just use it as a general blanket/laziness word due to habit. If you've ever wondered where a singular person was and you knew their gender. I almost gaurantee you thought to yourself at least once "Where the heck are they?" Or something similiar. It doesn't make you a bad guy, you're just using improper grammar or not overthinking every single word. Their's worse one could do, though this doesn't excuse the ones that do it to purposely ruffle.

I personally try to stick with the preferred, but it's honestly just a versatile word. I once took flak for it in 2005, well before the chaos of today, for one of the dumbest reasons.

recently I learned the original F-14-A has 2 sets of variable wings. They had a small pair of canards that would come out at high speeds. They were removed in later versions though

Yep, think the only reason I ever knew about those is due to them being modeled in the older Ace Combat games (4, 5, 0). You'd reach a certain high speed and they'd deploy.

I bet they even have christmas lights still up in practically march.

F-14 without a doubt. Variable geometry wings, sleek, overall satisfying visually. Even nicknamed Tomcat, so there's that.

I was sad when it was retired, but fully understandable due to costs/maintenance compared to others.

Oh and yeah, the way Ferrari goes about it just... ugh. Not like I can afford one, maybe a totalled Dino or fiero.

Buy two 250k cars for 2-5 years, then you can maybe buy a 1 million dollar car. After 2 years you can then take it to the dealership to get a certificate that's it a real ferrari. The hell with that.

As much as I hate to laugh at this shit, I legit went through this experience in the past.

I made the mistake of stepping 2 feet out of the house and the neighbor's dog came to confront me. Mind you this dog was literally kept in a cage for 15 hours a day, peed in the house, and then they'd let terrorize the neighborhood.

So while the dog is barking and growling at me, I see the owners and think "Oh good, they'll get her" Only to get "don't hurt my dog" and "he's afraid of it" while the mom just comes over smiling 'just give her your hand'

I eventually just thought to myself "fuck it" and went back inside, to then have them try to open the door to this house so the dog could befriend me. Meanwhile the whole time it was aggressive.
Then they got a second dog to no doubt raise just as proper.

The guy explained it pretty well.
To sum it up better, they over produce cars in fear that a customer will want to buy it NOW and not wait a month or so. So the cars sit in an area untouched and essentially rot for 1-2 years before getting around to being sold as fresh off the line. By the time the car is sold, it starts to fall apart or needs entire components replaced, because letting a car sit untouched for a long period is bad. The result is Mclaren actually loses money and customers get a bad experience.

It's not everywhere and they may have sorted themselves out, but I do know this is how it was in around 2019-2020.

It's a mix.... Mclaren used to be great, what with the Mclaren F1 and even doing collaboration with Buick for the GNX and Mercedes-Benz for the SLR. Unfortunately their actual cars are a mix bag, where they produce them in bulk and they just sit around for too long. This results in some customers getting cheap garbage that breaks/falls apart for about 200-400k.

Not saying it happens to all of them, but there are two long winded videos on youtube about a guy and his father who bought two new ones that had series of problems, one even got replaced by a different one that had apparently been sitting around for nearly 2 years. Then during the mess, mclaren actually dropped off a complete stranger's mclaren at their house after it was fixed for its own issues.

So yeah, they're producing cars in a manner to have a stockpile, because at any moment 100's of people will buy one all at once. Apparently it's the same mistake that ran Lotus into the ground.

In the sense that if it doesn't end in 0 or 5, then I'm triggered. I've even legitimately seen this trap and outright avoided buying a game because of it. A great example is the game Outward. It has one for 1 gs, another for 99. You simply create your character which is mandatory to even play it, you get 1 gs. In order to get the 99 one you have to playthrough the game 3 complete times via ng+ and hope it doesn't glitch.

Stupid shit like that. Otherwise I don't care, though some achievements give me an incentive to try something new/different.

That's about my only thoughts on it.

Really does come off as a game that's struggling with the detail/lighting. The poles having no wear and tear makes them stand out further as they're 'too clean'. Combined with the shadows being so close to the sides.

I don't like it.

Mostly EVs are fine, but I feel it's a combination of a few factors.

Being forced into something, tends to rub people the wrong way and EVs have their own set of shortcomings.

The infrastructure is larger than most grasp, and thus reluctance/slowness is a given. The current electrical grid is already strained and vulnerable as is, so to further pile more onto it leads to more issues. Power's out? Well, you can't cook, see in the dark, use your phone, drive, heat your home while some ass lord in a different zoning lot is unaffected.

Also there's the whole turning a blind eye to the vast strip mining and unethical labor, because one thinks dooting around in their EV that had to come from somewhere, is making a damn difference.

I have nothing against EVs or hybrids personally, and this is from someone that enjoys all things automotive and or mechanical. But some of the stuff I see seriously reminds me of those that don't understand how internet connections or technology in general works, like it's magic with nothing behind it, or simply sucking it down because they're told to by someone else.

I don't recall one, but Finding Forrester was on tv about a week or two ago, and when it was coming up to that scene, I go "oh, here it comes..." and it was great when it happened.

I remember the taco one... and later I saw a youtube review on it and it summed the presentation of it perfectly.

Pretty sure the energy saver setting has been around since about 2013. It's got 2 god damn settings, instant on/sleep and energy saver.

They changed the names of them a few months ago, but they do the same thing as always. Idle and sip electricity, but has glitchiness that usually needs a restart anyways. Or 'just turn the sucker off' when not being used.

If they're seriously moaning about the energy saver/shut down setting, then that's literally like complaining about turning the TV or faucet off for 7+ hours when no one is using it. I don't mind some of the stuff from Fox, but this is literally just scraping for it.

FYI not all male cats spray if they're not neutered.

Even spayed females can/will spray if stressed enough.

Males seem to be a bit more affectionate/easier to approach, but once you win over a female they'll stick to you like glue.

Had a female for 20 years, she'd actually attack/demand I go to bed at times just so she could snuggle. Current male, not so much, but he does like to lick n groom me.

Ofcourse I also have his sisters and brothers to judge off, plus 2 others. His 5 sisters will vocalize and follow me around the yards like some sort of bouncer in echelon formation when walking and politely ask for attention. His brothers (lost one due to dogs) are/were like him, cuddly, but kinda run about on their own.

I'm only basing this on the 12 cats I've had under my watch. 4 males, 8 females.

I'm not kidding when I say I can walk across the backyard into the neighbor's yard and leave a wake of cats behind me as they string along. The males don't really do it, but they'll come to greet me when I walk back.

I guess it's about to get real bad around here, as I see about 8 of them in just the morning as this street is a main artery for them to pass through during routes. So if I stay in just the yard I'll probably be seeing 14-15 a day. I feel sorry for my neighbors, and cats.

Growing up there were neighbors that were a ... I think a black man and white woman. They basically never left the house because everyone else was acting like it was the biggest crime of the century and they should be ashamed in the 90's.

Then again the same ones went on a tangent about that plumber's crack commercial, calling it sexual and desensitizing. So I just told em "You're all having a group conversation/commitee about a liquid plumber commercial, so it sounds like it worked."

Either Misty or Mirage, or the slightly smaller lookalike from across the street, almost became dog food yesterday. Thankfully the neighbor was out there at the time to spot it and pepper spray the dog, just as it had gotten its mouth on the cat.

It's not the same dog that got Jaxx, but it looks kinda like a german shepherd/pittbull mix and large. Large enough it could easily hurt/kill the neighbor's dogs just as well.

I gave the cats a good look over and groping, can't find any harm, though they were obviously shaken. Seem ok today.

It's fine with me so long as it wasn't one of those higher end/exotic ones, like wagyu steak, and actually consumed. *I should clarify I mostly refer to the overpriced for quantity stuff. If you want to buy 1 steak and then survive by licking the minerals off the ground for a week or two, then I guess that's on you.

Could buy up all the canned foods for roughly the same amount spent and literally just flush it straight down the toilet. Now that'd just be a dick move by wasting credit and food for others.

I also don't understand why people think Chef Boyardee is so great. I only mention it due to a previous post and that whole 'eat chef boyardee to fight inflation' thing the other month. Whoever thinks you can actually survive on that crap hasn't really tried to do so. It's not as cheap as you'd think, and it'll literally run through your system in record time by effectively biding time and providing a ton of sodium levels.

Same goes for lunchables, like the pizza ones. Few years ago just one had 27% of daily sodium, the other week I looked at one in the store and it's now up to 31. And that's basically a 2 dollar snack you'd think as 'cheap alternative' if you didn't actually look.

There's a guy that lives in a house on the corner of the street. A few times now he's walked down the road and then back with speaker phone on, holding it up chest level having a convo about finances and scheduling. Meanwhile I'm just standing right outside knowing everyone hears both ends of it.

I used to do that for about a year or so, then had the same occurance hit me. I didn't really need it for anything, and it seemed like too big of a risk if lost literally bundled with other ID.

It's recommended that you either go all physical, all magical, or perfect split such as 2 physical/2 magical. Because you need to remove the respective armor type in order to damage and crowd control. So long as you pick all of one type or split it evenly it's fine, as having just 1 caster can lead to them being pretty useless.

As for difficulty, it's got a strange inverse difficulty, where it's harder at the beginning, then gets a bit easier due to abilities. This also occurs in each act, with a spike of difficulty that you can overcome.

The game also rewards being a scummy bastard, by simply using teleport to dispatch foes or set up all kinds of elemental/environmental combos that can work both ways. It's great.

I went outside to touch wet cats.

I'd like to see them, but maybe tweaked. Nothing like leveling up to reach harder enemies, because you did jumping jacks in town for 8 hours. Now you're ready to fight the final boss.

Like they should exist, but the leveling implementation is fickle.
