The Baccano anime, as excellent as it is, is basically just a teaser.

I own all the LNs release so far, can't recommend the series enough.

You can't just start from a specific volume past the anime though, the anime takes bits and pieces from several novels.

I've never read the manga, but seems like it's just a short partial adaptation of the anime, which would mean it's basically pointless.

It seems very single chapter of this last volume has to be dragged out of Ichikawa's grasp kicking and screaming.

I consider every expansion of XIV to be it's own game, but it's a matter of preference.

I was definitely lucky to come into Baccano with just a single person recommending it, though I've watched it...at least 15 times now and have never gotten tired of it.

I wouldn't reccomend them over Baccano but I would reccomend everything Bane just posted except for Sarazanmai (I was really looking forward to this one and gave it everything I could, but was only able to make it through 3 episodes. It's no Penguidrum!)

Asobi Asobase in particular is a fucking riot.

I have had the pulse on anime ever season for over a decade and I will still say Baccano.

Vampeerz just wrapped up it seems.

Seemed a little rushed, but that's probably because it just had the one big arc after the episodic stuff ended. Still, I enjoyed this quite a bit!

XV is nowhere near the worst game I've played, but it's definitely the game I hate the most.

Yeah the Funi app was absolute trash from start to finish, truly horrific.

Crunchyroll isn't perfect and it's clearly just trying to be Netflix but not doing a great job (at least the app version), but typically it works.

Torn between Crunchyroll mediocre apps and the fact that they're the only service able to consistently get anime out on time.

Based on some CRWBY talk on Twitter, it sounds like Crunchyroll may end up being a more active participant in the series, and considering they've been trying to get their foot in the door on western production for a hot minute I wouldn't be surprised is they end up getting behind it.

Man I just keep thinking about that beginning.

I literally just said volume 5 was a bust but that scene actually puts a lot of one of it's major plot threads into a LOT more context.

I did enjoy the season. After the rollercoaster of emotions, drama, and tragedy that were the last two volumes, this is obviously a more down to earth affair, even with the fantastical setting. Obviously Ruby herself was the highlight of the season, and episode 8 the peak. Overall narrative advancement is all but absent, but it got our girls prime and ready for what's certainly going to be a much more high octane season or 2 in Vacuo.

If I had a real complaint other than the shorter length, it's that I think Weiss really got the shaft here. Maybe they felt two seasons in Atlas meant she was OK to take more of a background position here, but she's Ruby's partner and they barely even talk to eachother this volume. WhiteRose in shambles.

It's going to be either just above or just below 2 on the ranking, haven't decided yet.

Oh and frankly the wildest thing about the finale was the Raven and Summer scene. Don't think I saw her being part of that night coming at ALL.

Finished my full series rewatch of RWBY just in time for the V9 finale tomorrow. About 25 hours, not bad for a week.

Ranking going into it: 7 > 3 > 6 > 8 > 2 > 4 > 1 > 5 (man what a bungle, totally understand why I stopped watching here)

It kinda looks like garbage. The snes version is some of the best sprite work of all time, so any attempt at outdoing perfection is gonna feel cheap. Curious to know what you guys think

It's the fist time the Xbox has had a decent exclusive in over a decade and it's extremely frustrating. Really thought I could just let all thoughts of the brand die, but I really wanna play this game.

It's difficult for me to compare XIVs gameplay with the rest of the series.

Obviously I enjoy playing it more than any other FF game by a country mile, but that's partially due to how much investment I have. I have a single character I've spent hundreds of hours getting to level 90 on 19 combat jobs, if course I'm gonna care.

People say XII feels like an offline MMO, and maybe that's true as far as the genre I'm general, but it definitely does not feel like and offline XIV.

And Trusts are better than they used to be, but they're still not good. Dungeons take twice as long to finish at best compared to an actual party. I understand that some people are looking forward to the full game having trusts but honestly it's a big mistake to do so, the game will never be as good with trusts as it is just playing with randos.

I'll at bare minimum take 13 over 2, 3, and 15 without a doubt.

Bottom four would be 15 < 2 < 3 < 13

Can't speak for LR but 13 was Citizen Kane compared to 13-2.

Actually hmmmm maybe not. I just checked and the episode lengths for V9 have actually been longer than average. It's around 2:45 so far, and the last episode is supposedly between 20-25 not including credits, so this volume will end up being longer than it seems.

Still, I figured this thing was under an hour even before finding out it was gonna be 2 movies, so that's still much beefier than expected!

That's actually part of the wierd time plot of the movie, all these DC characters became younger when they were sent over.

From other clips it's clear it's affecting the RWBY side too thus Yang being at Beacon but missing her arm.

I was less interested when I thought it was just an adaptation of the comic, but clips have revealed this is entirely it's own thing other than the designs.

This is an hour and half movie and it's only part 1 of 2.

All in all it'll be longer than season 9 lol.

Different studio animating it though, so not like it's hogging resources.

Partially because of idiot reviewers who harped on how it was the first good Tales game ever even though it isn't as good as the game that came out right before it, but hell I ain't complaining if it gets us numbers.

Arise did very well.

One would think this translates to a solid effort for the series moving forward.

I wouldn't use Time Magazine as a stepping stone, though, it's the American Idol of publications. Everyone knows about it, it's been around forever, and it's extremely popular, but it doesn't matter at all and it's never been less relevant.

I really like Lupin, Princess Mononoke and Porco Rosso, the rest of his stuff is pretty good. I haven't seen the last like....5 or 6 movies, though. Should really watch Princess Kaguya though, I hear it's a banger.

None of that is wrong, but I still wouldn't say the man HIMSELF is as well known compared to his games.

Let me put it this way. I think "A Hideo Kojima Game" does more to promote a game than "From the creator of Metal Gear Solid", but I would say "From the creator of Dark Souls and Elden Ring" would be a better promotion than "A Hidetaki Miyazaki Game".

Sharing the same last name as one of the most internationally well known names in Japanese entertainment doesn't help!
