About 6 months ago I was my ending my own business watching TV. Suddenly a round gray thing in the corner floated up towards the ceiling. At first I thought it was a plastic bag caught in the breeze from the fan. Then when it reaches the top corner of the room it just was gone.

Like, it literally looked like a plastic bag floated up and through the ceiling. I have no idea what that was. Wasn't scary at all, it was funny. It was just gone, and there wasn't even a bag to begin with. lol

Sex is sex, what leads up to it doesn't change the act itself. If you pay for it, you still have it with them. The same as anyone who "earns" it.

I honestly don't know how people didn't expect Love and Thunder to be a silly comedy after Ragnarok, Fat Thor, and his What If? episode.

MCU Thor is a comedy character that gets the occasional serious scene, not the other way around.

For this part, you can hear the sword calling to him at that point. I didn't take it as a literal oasis, but rather him being chosen by the sword allowed him to see the forest and approaching it transported him there.

Sure, that's all quite a big stretch to make, but I like it better than how the movie presents it.

Also, I agree that the movie kinda sucks. Almost none of the jokes landed. Korg was God awful, despite being good in previous films. The whole thing felt like everyone believed it would be loved just because Ragnarok was, so they just churned out done garbage and chucked it together.

Gorr is one of my favorite MCU villains. It would've been cool if he was, y'know, actually in the movie for more than like 3 scenes.

I wonder what would have happened if plan B worked out, and Tommy took Ellie to the Fireflies instead.
I'm imagining 2 scenarios here.

1. He drops her off in the doorstep and leaves. Not wanting to get involved in Firefly stuff again, and his job is fine, cand Ellie is "safe" with them. So he just goes home.

2. He reconnects with Marlene, and she takes him out for drinks or something while they operate. He's none the wiser.

Though, I do think even if he knew that he'd still let it happen. He had previously stated that he can't let Joel's sorrow dictate his own life. So the decision would likely be made with his own family in mind over Joel's.

I only have a step-nephew. My brother's step-son. And no, I don't have any kind of relationship with him. He's an awful person who has robbed them blind in several occasions, stolen their car, become a drug dealer, assaulted people.

When he was younger and my brother was just starting to date his mom, he took my brother's gun and shot out my window. They thought it was funny. Then he pointed the gun at his mom and said he could kill her if he wanted. So once they left, I hid every gun in the house. Brother got PISSED at me. Then once he found some of them he just let the kid play with them again, unsupervised. It's a miracle he didn't kill anyone.

He's currently living at my brother's place, stealing their stuff and dealing drugs again.

Yeah, several.

One remained a dick, and just stared daggers at me until I waved and then he ignored me.

Another wasn't so much a troublemaker as much as he associated with them. We never interacted much in school, but he liked to encourage behavior from the others. Encountered him at my retail job as adults and he was actually super nice.

One guy was a terrible bully to me. When I was 9 I was severely injured in a car wreck. Once he found out about it, and that I had been in physical therapy it got worse. He knew I had a back injury and was still not 100% recovered from surgery. So he beat me up. Made sure to punch me in the gut where the surgery happened and knee me in the back where I was injured too. Anyway, he dropped out in early high school and got heavy into drugs. Met him again in my mid 20's. I didn't recognize him at first, so he was surprised that I was nice to him. Then even more surprised after he explained who he was and I was still nice. He had a pentagram tattooed on his forehead and looked really rough. But he turned out nice too. He kept coming back to talk every now and again, said due to how he looked and bad blood from his younger days that people don't treat him well. So appreciated that I did.

You could eventually kill off infected or they'd die off.
Doubt they'd die out. Some of the money at powerful enemies are the first infected that are still living. Doubt it'd ever possible to ever kill them off either. They far outnumber the remaining humans.

It'd basically make no difference. By the time the game and show happen, no new infected survive to become a monster. They all are either killed, or commit suicide. It's the same result, no new infected. The only difference it'd make is having a slightly higher survival rate, which would raise the numbers in the human side a bit, but not really enough to make a huge difference. Killing old infected and preventing new infections is essentially the same as immunizing them to not get infected.

AndreLeGeant posted...
The real point is that this major choice for Joel makes no sense, though Druckman insists we should assume the cure would have been found
His choice does make sense, from his perspective. There wouldn't be a discussion if it was cut and dry. I'm just saying a successful cure wouldn't actually affect things very much.

Even if it had worked, the survivors would still be at risk of being killed by the infected. It'd just stop new infections.

The world wouldn't suddenly reverse, it wouldn't become safer. The small communities that are surviving would simply continue to do so as they are. The world would still be over. The infected would still be a huge threat.

It'd would only slightly improve survival rates. The people that get bitten and not torn to shreds would live, and that's it. Assuming further infections don't set in and take them out, or die from the injury itself.

look up adverse possession laws in your state. You will need a lawyer, it will costs thousands. Probably $5-10k if no one disputes your parents adverse possession claim. If someone disputes it, double or triple that amount.

stuff like paying property taxes will help your claim, assuming no one is currently paying.

There's a house connected to our property. It had an elderly couple living there. But the husband died like 17 years ago, and the wife went into a nursing home. She passed away about 12 years ago.

Their house has just been sitting there, vacant for all that time. My parents still take care of the yard like they did for the lady before she was moved.

It'd would be very nice to be able to buy it. So, we contacted their children. None of whom claim or want the property. They all said that the nursing home owns it now. So we contacted them and they said that's not true, that her one son paid for her to stay and the house was never included in any way.

So we went to the court house, and they claim the deed in the couple's name, despite them both being dead for so long. They just said to contact the family, which we've already done.

Dad says he has squatter's rights since he's been keeping the yard in shape. Mom says since it's abandoned we just have to pay the taxes and it'll be ours... But is there actually a legal way to claim it?

I'm not inclined to rely on squatter's rights and a deed appearing from thin air from paying taxes. So... Does anyone know anything about this type of situation?

Well, if you're unfamiliar with it you could try CBT (Cognitive Based Therapy). It's basically the practice of being aware of your thoughts and making a conscious effort to improve them (while also recognizing positive things in your life).
That was something he said we were going to try, but then it never went further. After I quit, I did buy a cognitive behavior adjustment self help book, but didn't make it very far in before I got distracted. I wonder if I still have it somewhere, I'll have to look for it.

I was also on antidepressants at the time. Neither therapy or medication seemed to make a difference. Outside of giving me side effects.

He never really addressed any of my issues, gave advice or useful insights. He'd spend most of our sessions on the phone to other patients. After all that time, the only change he'd suggested be made in my life was to go on a walk every weekend. Which I did, except once it was cold and rainy so I skipped it and when he learned that he told me I wasn't worth his time. Alongside a bunch of other stuff he'd said that hurt. So I quit.

Also I'm not trying to come across as an armchair therapist here but having these negative self thoughts and especially writing them out is incredibly detrimental to your self esteem. You may think the bad life causes the negative thoughts, but the negative thoughts can definitely cause the bad life (or make it worse).

For the record I say this as someone that has suffered from cynicism and low self esteem for a long ass time, but I'm trying to make the effort of improving my outlook. Initially I was skeptical of trying to be glass half full, but after putting it in practice I've found it made me enjoy life more

Yeah, but I don't know how much they paid. Couldn't have been much, since we didn't have much money.

Also, that car was a mess. Passenger seat wouldn't stay upright, so they boxes and a pipe propping it up. Rear driver seat had a hole in the floor, could literally stick your foot down to the road and touch the axel or whatever. They kept a plastic grate over the hole, but it was attached so it'd just slide around.

It was a waste too, since I didn't have any where to go or a reason to have a vehicle. I'd get sent to the post office and come straight home, and get cussed out by them. It's about a fifteen minutes round trip to the post office and back. They timed me, it took me 17 minutes, and I passed dad on the way back. He was coming to find me, and mom was about to call the police.

It was too much and I stopped driving at all. Then my aunt was desperate for a vehicle, so I gave it to her. Dad went behind my back and told them I wanted $300 and they gave it to him.

I used to work at an interstate rest area. One morning I'm just out sweeping up some trash or something else mundane. When a guy approached me in tears. He claimed that his family had died in a house fire a few days earlier. I didn't really know what to say, so I tried consoling him the best I could.

Then he straightened up, stopped crying, and told me he was a murderer. That he'd killed several people by telling a sob story and getting people to lower their guard. Said he'd cry and ask for a hug, and if they hugged him he'd pull his knife and gut them.

Then he pointed out that he was recording the entire encounter. He had a chest mounted camera thing hidden under his jacket. Then told me that he felt I was being genuine when consoling him, so he wouldn't have his partner attack me from behind and pointed out a big guy that was off in the shadows behind me watching both of us.

He went off on a racist rant against Muslims and Jewish people. Claimed they were the ones who murdered his family, and that him murdering Muslims was what caused them to retaliate and kill his family. So he felt guilty, but now had nothing left to lose.

Then he was crying again. He asked me for a hug. At the time I was going through a lot of shit myself and really didn't care if I lived or died, so I gave him a hug. Really, it was mostly just to see if he'd actually gut me or not. He didn't try anything, but the other guy did move in closer.

Anyways, they kinda had me stuck for like an hour before I managed to step away without them following me. But when I got away, they started on another person. So I called the police and told them there was a guy harassing visitors and threatening to gut them. But they left before the cops got there.

Edit: He also gave me his website, supposedly where he uploads the videos of his encounters. So I checked it out and it was a site selling shoes.
