"Fun" fact: You can beat chapter 14 with zero risk and with getting every extra item except the Dragonpike trivially by just sitting around the starting point after you visit houses and shop. There are a few narrow choke points, only one faces multiple attacks and you can stack supports + charm to get hit rates to 1 there with Finn and the enemies can't ever threaten you anymore as long as you just use unequipped mounted units who can't be captured. The map is a defend map where the developers assumed you would think it was a rout or defeat boss map because they forgot to make it capable of threatening you in any way if you just defend like you're supposed to.

It was in the originals but you needed to beat the game to enter it IIRC, whereas Platinum allowed you to go in with only two or three badges. It's just a creepy place where you can get Rotom, nothing bigger to it.

Lewyn x Tiltyu gets you Forseti on a horse, which is nice. But Ced's caps are just way higher and Sage is just a better class even without the horse.

The difference in caps is barely relevant since they both outspeed everything and the magic difference is smaller than the caps suggest since Ced doesn't cap on average (avoid gap is also a bit smaller than it looks since Arthur generally has better luck), both need Magic Rings for all the same 2HKOs, both face chances of death from pretty much all the same stuff, etc. Ultimately Arthur with the Pursuit Ring is just flat out better because aside from just existing earlier to help with Melgen he doesn't need rings for horse canto and that is both more useful in general and specifically helps with the Deadlords, who even Ced can get killed by pretty easily.

The headline version of my take is pretty clean: one of the best games Ive ever played, and I never want to play it again.

I've played FE4 many times now but this is surprisingly close to my feelings lol. It has some serious problems and on paper I really should not like it, but it's probably my favourite game of all time nonetheless.

Tinny can't use Thoron, she's a regular mage instead of a thunder mage, she gets C in all elements (bumped up to B by holy blood) instead of the B in thunder (bumped up to A by holy blood) that Tiltyu got at the cost of not having wind/fire until promotion. You don't inherit weapons you can't use

It's hard to fuck anything up with pairings, the variable kids are by and large a lot less consequential than you might expect. Some can definitely be good, but you get enough good fixed units to make anything work.

Dew/Brigid is really good for the kids, but it's the slowest pairing in the game to make so you really have to commit to stapling them together to make it happen. In my ranked run where I did that pairing, I had to stand around for like eight extra turns in chapter 5 waiting for them to finally fuck despite having them be next to each on every single available turn up to that point.

Super plain and barebones but not actually bad, and I appreciate a game not wasting time with story if it's not going to be anything remarkable. I'm bumping it up a point or so based on the localization too which adds a ton of character to basically everything in the world

I ask her why her right arm doesn't exist because I am very intelligent and can tell it isn't just the camera angle, she really doesn't have a right arm and she needs to explain quickly why she hasn't put a robot arm in there instead.

The thing I don't get though is this whole moon landing business. I don't understand why people act like it's a conspiracy theory to deny it happened. I mean, the moon doesn't even exist, it's just a thing in kid's stories. We can't send a spaceship to places that aren't even real. It was, but there was a pretty big transition in the style of government that makes it make sense to have different terms for each and those fit well enough
