I have no rebuttal for this. True true.

Watching over your video, the house fire sounded like it was recent in the OP's video, not when he was a kid back in the late 00's. Kinda pathetic that she got greedy in wanting more than $25K and ending up in court to get it dwindled down to $6.7K. In any case, baby mama issues isn't enough for me to be sympathetic to 50's turbulent relationship with his son. It's an active job to be a father and we had a billion and 2 social constructs to prevent the destabilization of the nuclear family, most of which disappeared over the last 50 years or so. Of course, in his culture, why would he know any better?

50 Cent, on the relationship with his son (from 50's perspective):

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vYBV52LVDhw

He had a brilliant idea with the online sneakershop but he screwed up with his absent father tendencies. He waited for the results, not pushed for them. If Marquis lived in his home, 50 Cent would have been on top of him, reminding him everyday, "Did you work on the shop yet?", "Did you get a buddy to manage the warehouse?", "Did you build a website yet?", and he would be right there to answer questions when the kid inevitably got stuck on what to do. But since they didn't live together, 50 would have had to call him up to press for results. And he didn't. He assumed Marquis would have been on top of things. But given how it appears he hasn't displayed discipline or perseverance, of course he would inevitably flounder on that project.

I don't blame the kid at all for this. You don't become a man who can assume responsibilities when you hit whatever the legal age of your country is. Majority of the history in cultures across the world, boys are guided to become one through trials to demonstrate their growth and ability to handle responsibilities. You don't immediately gain discipline, it's all a gradual process that you have to practice, which is one of the reasons why you teach kids to make their beds everyday or have them wash the dishes daily. Just giving him money and whatever he wants isn't a substitute for helping him develop the necessary qualities to help him succeed in life.

To the OP, is the kid still looking for child support? Or is he venting over the reduction of child support? For any average person, $81K a year (with no hours committed to earning it) is more than enough for them to not have to worry about finances. For him, he was probably used to a lavish lifestyle above most people's paygrade and his life revolved around material goods with jewelry and sneakers. So yeah, he'd be one to say his life is over after his house burned down, taking all his jewelry and 10's of thousands of dollars worth of sneakers with it, and think $6700 is not enough to rebuild.

Only vaguely relevant but check out this piece on the child support economy.

The burden of proof is on the ones making a claim; whether you make a claim X exists or Y doesn't exist, you prove it in science. Case in point, E&M theory says it's possible for monopoles to exist. Does it exist? We haven't observed it in reality yet. But we don't know so we can't say it doesn't or does exist altogether.

Atheism is a belief, Agnosticism is not. One is "I believe gods don't exist", other is "I don't have an opinion on whether they exist or not".

But to the topic, given how people are forming a community and identity around their atheistic beliefs, I would consider taking it to that extent to be a religion.

The impression I'm getting is that this guy is overly protective of what's his as noted by starting a fight over his lawn and he thinks he's better than everyone else. I can deduce the logic in that. It doesn't have the inherent contradictory nature of someone who looks down on a population but still married into it.

But for a real world example, I will give you that there is a population of Hapas, half White half Asian males who are emotionally abused due to their Asian mothers who have self hatred of their genes and White males who are proud of their genes (to say the least) but go over to Asia to find a wife. And the parents are both disappointed that the kid looks more like the mom than the dad. And it reflects in their treatment and upbringing of the kid.

I don't think this is true at all and I do believe it depends on the conservative and the liberal. A conservative who strongly believes abortion is murder isn't likely to date someone who believes abortion is a choice of body autonomy and is willing to fight for the right to choose.

They did some polling and it's the general sentiment.

https://today.yougov.com/topics/society/articles-reports/2020/08/13/dating-political-beliefs-pol-data

There are newer polls that reflect the similar sentiment, perhaps to greater degree, but I am feeling lazy at the moment.

As mentioned, it was a variation of that but basically it was "Your family seem to be nice people but they're too hispanic for me and I am not comfortable being around them. You're different and act more white and even look more white than they do. You integrated in our culture better than they did." This was... very insulting.

He told me he didn't want to be around them again.

Him not accepting or respecting your family is a fine reason to not continue the relationship. Personally I'd be interested in figuring why he thinks lowly of Hispanics but of the course, there's no future, given what I brought up about Hapas above.

Some people can change. I am less harsh than others on CE and generally give people a chance. I provide reason to users that others tell me not to bother with. I tend to give the benefit of doubt more often than not.

That being said.. it's not everyone's place to educate others or give people a chance. Different people have different energy levels. Educating others isn't really any of our jobs. As you mentioned, different people have different tolerances.

Well, there are people out there looking to impose their will on the world and ideals on those around them. If someone doesn't take up the mantle of educating others, someone else will and it will be a concern if you don't agree with what they're teaching.

That's the exact sleight of hand liberalism performs in real life. You never see the meaningful change to structure and institution. It's just assured to come like the end of a fairy tale if you pledge to support the structure and institution as it is now.

BRO, JK Rowling got stumped on figuring out how write a compelling method of Harry, Hermione, and Ron becoming best friends while they were grouped off in the obvious houses they were supposed to be in, Ravenclaw and Slytherin for the latter 2 respectively. So she gave up on them being sorted in their logical houses and threw them all into Gryffindor.

If she couldn't come up with a compelling scenario there, why expect her to write a compelling multi-volume story of Harry becoming a revolutionary hero that meaningfully impacts and progresses his society for the better?

Rowling is clearly a brilliant writer for creating such a compelling magical world, but that #6's post, I think that was out of her hands.

I don't think I can understate how big of an investment a marriage is. You may say the guy's intentions are foul, but if he's still upholding his obligations in treating his family well with flying colors, that speaks well of his character. His mind can be changed and he will respect the individual despite the population the person comes from. And it's telling when we live in a culture where liberals have zero tolerance for conservatives when it comes to dating while conservatives tend to be more open minded about dating liberals.

If he's being rude and treating people awfully and flat out embarrassing you, that is definitely a deal breaker. I wouldn't want to date someone who treats people like dirt either. But if he says comments to you privately that you find rude and offensive, why not have a conversation with him about it and engage him on why he feels such a way? Breaking a relationship off with someone over him saying "Oh, why can't more of _____ be like you?" comes off as shallow to me (granted most men don't have an overflowing amount of options so they would be more willing to compromise than break it off). We all have preconceived notions, it takes exposure to new experiences to evolve them.

Case in point, I had a really good buddy back in college who had vendetta against women and certain ethnicities. When I engaged him on why he felt such a way, we came to the conclusion that he was projecting his anger on women from one of his earlier relationships as he hadn't gotten over how it ended (he got kicked out of college due to the shenanigans that took place then). So people who remind him of her get him started. So anytime he says something offensive about them, I just bip him with a blow up hammer and tell him to stop projecting.

I admit, I have more tolerance than most, but this is basic shit, communicating with one another to understand WHY people think a certain way.

Indeed. There's no investment needed when someone says "I have friends who are ______". In contrast, if a guy is married to a girl of some ethnicity, not only is he socially obligated to provide for her and raise her children, but he's merging their families and potentially will be continuing both of their bloodlines. If the guy is racist, then that would speak highly of his character if he treats her well and is a good husband.

I remember the day at this one Chainlink virtual conference a couple years back, at Mashinsky's presentation, we were all laughing at him as he desperately tried to convince us Celsius was a DeFi company and not a bank dabbling in crypto. He may (and did) fool casual retail investors, but for a number of us who are quite knowledgeable of the field, we abide by the golden rule: "Not your keys, not your crypto". If you don't have access to the private key or someone else has access to your private key of a wallet address, consider the assets in that wallet no longer yours. Even if you put them on a trusted exchange like Coinbase.

In any case, between him, Do Kwon, and 3 Arrows Capital, the industry's reputation and goodwill has been setback several years so it'll be more difficult to win the common populace over. In any case, it's going to be interesting to see what new innovations take place in these next couple of years that make it to mainstream attention.

But besides that, he said the students have poor attendance which was not refuted in the article nor were they compensating to make up for the reduced communication for the isolation in lieu of the pandemic.

Organic Chem has historically been a weeder class across every college. I never took it but even I remember my friends suffering immensely from the course to the point where even they went to the provost over the professor as she didn't get along with them that well, and probably 6 out 20 or 30 passed that I'm recalling the situation. Not that it changes very much, but it's worth pointing out that they likely have/had no intent to actually live there but instead saw it as an opportunity to scoop up property earmarked for older asian families so they could rent it out to them at profit.

From the article:

"Lin, the agent, allegedly took them on an uncomfortable tour of the property, but still, the family was not discouraged. For them, this was not personal but a business investment."

I did catch in the video they planned on buying 3 units but it had me confused on why they would want to sue the seller AND still want to buy the units. The article confirms this, they had zero intention of being a part of that condominium community. I don't think that's right. We already have a problem of people buying up houses purely to rent out on Airbnb which drives the prices up for the market. And this is on top of Black Rock buying up properties across the country to rent out.
