My Swedish two cents.
We have had the highest electrical prices ever for the last 1.5 year. People have been homeless because of the electric bills. Add to that an inflation that could have been stopped if the Government had added the price ceiling on electricity and gasoline as they promised.
It was so bad so they talked about cutting the power for big cities for some hours to save electricity, even with oil powerplants burning 10.000 litres oil per hour.
Wanting to replace all cars with electric cars in this situation is madness. Add to that that you need a new fuse box with a higher ampere if you want to charge your car at home, which raises the electric price for all the electricity you use at home is another failure. Which reminds me, they have recalled the most popular electric car charger because it wasnt "safe enough".
My mother works at the governmental elderly care, at night. Their parking space got oldschool charging stations (for engine and car heater, it can be really cold here) and they cant even run the car heaters for all the parked cars without the electric plug breaking, it would be impossible to charge an electric car there.
Add to that, the Government have decided that they will get two electric cars.
Two, because they are bribed to the ears and decided to get a model that wont be able to last the whole night so they will need to change the car in the middle of the night. And since they are too lazy to fix the charge station problem in the near future, they will have to drive 15 to switch car and then spend another 15 minutes driving back. What happen if they get an alarm at that time?

I mean, hey, electric cars sounds good, but right now we are lacking the needed electric infrastructure, and around here you will lose so many miles unless you want to drive an icecold car all day long.
