Komi is definitely a nice anime! I no longer have access to Netflix, but as long as they keep making new seasons of that (along with other good shows) I'll be able to justify at least one month a year to binge them all

Sure, I'm always down for another idol anime. I probably won't watch it next, but I will watch it in the near future

While I mostly enjoyed the ending of FFX, it had one huge problem for me. One of my favorite things about X-2 is that it explicitly calls out that problem from X and addresses it!

I hated how Tidus was so against Yuna sacrificing herself, only to then essentially sacrifice himself instead. I know why it kinda had to happen, but I didn't like how no one pointed out the hypocrisy. It was just treated as a valiant thing. In X-2, I loved how Yuna acknowledged the bitter feeling she'd been left with, and she refused to allow anyone to sacrifice themself this time around. She didn't like that plan. It sucked. That quote is a meme for a good reason, it's a funny line, but I unironically love it because it shows how far she's come as a character. Yuna starts X as someone ready to sacrifice herself, then ends X-2 as someone who won't allow sacrifice at all. So good.

Gunnerkrigg Court went to shit years ago when Tony returned. I even made an angry topic here awhile back when Annie stared directly at the fourth wall and said "No, my obviously abusive father isn't abusive", ugh. I said I would quit reading it then, but I've gone back and caught up a few times just to bask in the awfulness. GC has pretty art, but the writing has been terrible for awhile.

The most recent chapter even made me lol when everyone got angry at Annie for using the spell to track down Zimmy in what was apparently a bad location, only Annie didn't choose the location! I mean, what the hell. I could probably write an essay complaining about the baffling writing in Gunnerkrigg Court

Maybe I will check Blue Lock out. The only sports anime I've watched that wasn't starring cute girls is Megalo Box.

Pitch Black is one of my favorite movies, but Chronicles of Riddick sucked. The third movie was at least a step back in the right direction. I'll at least wait and see what the reception is for this.

I liked 86. It had a lot of good ideas and neat battles. The racism aspect was very heavy-handed, though.

Having said that, my recent low opinions towards Witch from Mercury, Code Geass, and Evangelion are making it increasingly clear that I'm not a huge mecha fan! My favorite mecha anime is Planet With

I don't think posting spoilers is a particularly good way of fighting back (I can't imagine it having enough reach to be effective... then again, I also feel like this isn't actually a common thing and transphobes are just yelling about a few rare occurances because it makes their side look better). However, saying that people shouldn't inconvenience others with their activism is the height of privilege and stupidity. Protests that block a bridge inconvenience a bunch of random people too, but the idea is to create awareness. The people stuck in traffic that day will learn about the protest's cause, and then it depends on the kind of person they are if they respond with "I understand and sympathize with your plight" or "fuck you for slightly inconveniencing me". The second group aren't worth concerning yourself with because they were never going to be on your side in any meaningful way. Reaching the first group, however few they may be, is what matters.

If these spoilers truly are rampant, I like to think at least a few people will make an effort to understand why and come out the other side a better person. If that bothers you, I guess just be grateful that the biggest thing you have to worry about is someone maybe spoiling a video game. Other people have to worry about a hell of a lot more.

Thanks for always checking in! I wanted to return the favor in your game ranking topic, but, while you've seen seemingly every anime, I had only played two or three games on your list. Still, I always appreciated your comments here. I'll definitely keep Kamichu in mind in case it ever reaches streaming or I ever become a more dastardly pirate.

I can see the logic for only doing a top 100, but I wanted to cover the full spectrum of everything I've seen. If I ever do an anime ranking again, I'd probably only post write-ups for new additions. Slightly edited write-ups from this would only be in the google doc or something similar, so I wouldn't spend months bashing everything again.

There's definitely a side of anime that I've barely seen. In the anime topics, sometimes you guys start talking about DBZ or One Piece or Bleach and I find myself skipping past several pages of posts. Perhaps someday I'll get around to those shows, though! I mean, I have to run out of cute girl stuff eventually. Thanks for checking into the ranking despite our differing interests. At least we agree HxH is great.

This was the article I read when looking for info about Rowling and trying to make a decision about this game. In particular, I'll quote one bit near the end that convinced me.

It made me think of what MLK once said about how the greatest hurdle towards civil rights was the white moderate. They werent explicitly racist, but they refused to support anything if it impacted them in any way. Well, not playing a HP game is a pretty small impact on me, so I suppose it's the least I can do in solidarity with people who are impacted way more by Rowling's influence.
