PS1 had better games at its best, but SNES probably had more good games overall, so I'll go with SNES. Also PS1 games tended to look pretty ugly due to early 3d models, and load times were pretty bad in a lot of them. So SNES also has the advantage on visual appeal and fluidity.

Assuming hypothetical instant language acquisition, Tokyo. More realistically, London. Even more realistically because I'm not rich enough to live in any of them, none.

It was... Okay. I wouldn't call any of the NES FF games good games by today's standards, but it's not bad either. It's sorta just there. I'd call it about equal with FF1? Honestly, I feel like 4 was where FF started to become a good series

I mean assuming this statement from Wikipedia is accurate, then I don't see any ethical issues with it... It kinda falls into the same kinda pool as necrophilia, where there's nothing inherently wrong with it, because in both cases the people are effectively inanimate objects at that point. It's just that it's considered societally unacceptable due to the huge "icky factor" that they used to be alive.

I started visiting CE around... 16 years ago? I liked it a lot more then. Lots of quality threads and quality posts. Nowadays there's the odd good thread, but it's mostly kinda meh.

I don't think so, no. I think that old games just get more recognition for being good because there's more of them that people are aware of.

For example, many people use the SNES as an example because it had a lot of good games, and its best games were phenomenal. However, they also disregard the mountains of shovelware that those prized games sit atop of.

In that sense, new games aren't any different. The best games are just as good, if not better, and they, too, sit among shovelware. The difference is that people haven't had the chance to dig through all the shovelware yet to find out what's actually good among all the garbage.

Yeah, Maple had the gacha pretty early into its life, which had some pretty broken items (like elemental wands and white scrolls) that were also gacha exclusive. And that was ironically when Maple was the least aggressively monetized...

Yeah... For me, the former is the true meaning of the word, but it's rarely used in that context anymore. And in that context, I would say no, CE is not woke at all. CE is more like a clash between opposing political echo chambers, and few people actually bother to form original, thoughtful opinions on anything.

Garnet for me. I like them all generally though, except for the FF8 girls. The entire FF8 cast in general was pretty trash, and possibly the worst in the entire series.

Aria of Sorrow and Circle of the Moon are pretty great. CotM is a little more rough around the edges of the two, but both are great in their own ways.

Idk, Genshin's pretty solid, despite its flaws. I don't really play gacha games for the most part though, I just thought this one looked like a neat action RPG and ended up falling a bit too deep down the Genshin rabbit hole I guess.
