Kendall Jenner doesn't know anything about tequila and looking at the business practices (read: $$$) from an exploitive economy and little oversight can lead to... interesting compromises. At best, you're getting Espolon in a literal different bottle, or an angry distiller trying to replicate a recipe (Cosamigos is literally trying to taste like Clase Azul), or agave farmers who have no one else to sell their inferior product to. Like Starbucks, with their uniform roasting plants, child labor or Arabica vs Robusta debacle.

I've been managing a tequila bar for 3 years. Finally, I can talk.

Dump Patron and Espolon down the toilet, it sucks. Lunazul, Hornitos, Milagro or Don Julio (for a bit more) will taste infinitely better.

All celebrity tequila is very, very bad and if you knew the business practices you'd be terrified. Subsidizing failing agaze farms and lionizing their after-tax free labor into your brand image? It's not just Starbucks that does this!

El Tesoro is a fantastic line to get into that is slightly expensive, but some of the most authentic stuff you can buy.

Lastly, 1942 rules. Clase Azul is trash. Change my mind.

That was the goal, yeah. Watching Prometheus and Covenant for what they are barely showcases 1% of that lore. It's all vaguely implied (Cut scenes and elements from the first script for Prometheus literally justify their extinction of humanity for killing Jesus, who was an Engineer.)

Prometheus got butchered in the editing room and the multiple screenplay rewrites did it no favors. The original was ham fisted but actually established all this lore. The released film has black goo, metaphor, and wooden characters. And don't get me started on Covenant.

There's a reason why an ancient Ridley Scott who was owed all the favors in the world by Hollywood was stopped after Covenant and told he couldn't continue the trainwreck, so he went on to produce Raised by Wolves which retells the same concept again.

Almost every game is their isolated attempt at perfecting this, with the implication that if it works it'd be released worldwide. They've gotten close, but nothing on that scale just yet. RE4 Plagas was probably their most successful run.

I loved the atmosphere, such a great vibe for 80% of the game. Wasn't wild about Factory or the ending sequences but oh well. After a certain point it clicked that the player is basically Van Helsing, and you just need to destroy everything. A lot like RE4.

It's hard to explain without spoilers, but the game has vignettes of different Resident Evils. Each "key" dungeon has a different motif and theme. There's some actual horror coming later on, but not much.

I remembered this topic.

TC, you might like I Am In Eskew. While it does have a bit of an overall plot, it's much more focused on singular episodes. Much dryer in tone than TMA though. The main character has been living in the eponymous city so long that he's just sort of resigned to a lot of it.

Stay away from The Black Tapes though, it is actual garbage.

Funny you'd mention that, I'm a few into it and like the tone alot. I also checked out Malevolent and it has a much darker, more sinister tone that I was looking for. Don't get me wrong, TMA has some solid episodes and statements, but the meta story didn't do too much for me basically. When it wants to be properly creepy, it knocks it out of the park. I enjoy that more than lolxdrandom Michael or Elias being a super human.

It's pretty crazy that people have been saying "He's xx years old, and in terrible health" for over a decade and he still hasn't finished the thing yet. 74 is pushing it, and I firmly believe it's never happening. He's going to ride out his legacy, and income, on royalties from the HBO gravy train. And why not? He can assist where he wants, isn't under scrutiny if it goes south and can keep going to insane amounts of events as a pseudo celebrity like he's been doing almost nonstop (not counting covid).

He probably has contingencies in place for this, spring, and other future titles to go to Sanderson to finish.

I listened to the first two seasons pretty religiously before bed, and it had quite a few exceptional short stories. Very creative, creepy and well written standouts. But as the meta story opened up more and more, especially by the end of Season 3, I fell off. I was surprised at just how young adult it got -- magical powers, destined heroes, prophecies and rituals, and tons of plot armor and zany "twists" to get rid of or return characters. It was pretty jarring to go from stories like "Bone Turners Tale" or "Binary" or "Lost John's Cave" and then get a steampunk villain, a twiddling mustache antagonist and in-lore gag episodes like the one where all the characters joke about the best "ships" between them in pairs.

TMA is incredibly niche so I doubt 3AM CE has listened to it much, but I just needed to vent about it.

Probably next year. Rumor is that Fall/winter '24 is going to be the 1.0 release. There isn't much to go, but the final steps are systems they've been working on for an extremely long time. I believe this year they've said we're scheduled for animals and wildlife and reworked farming, fishing, hunting, and foraging. After that is the entire map getting a visual update with new props and cells. So, NPCs are probably still a ways out.

Once you get the swing of things I highly recommend going into making a custom scenario and utilizing the metric ton of options. You can really tailor fit it into any kind of experience you want. It helps with setting house rules and own goals.

You could look into the modding scene, but tbh it's a mixed bag. There's a handful of quality of life mods on the workshop that smooth the experience out, but the second you touch vehicle/weapon/armor packs the balance goes out the window and the loot pools break -- more or less.

I tend to treat Zomboid as a run game. I set a personal scenario at the start, roleplay it, with a goal or destination in mind. Setting up for the long term is more fun with friends online, where you can eek out the progress session by session.

If you're talking about just images like above for fun or projects, more or less anything will be fine. If you're trying to make 3D models, textures or assets for game/fmv design then the AI gets both exponentially more expensive and niche.

Political maneuvering with the Eurasian bloc -- er, I mean union -- has been way too slow and steady for his liking. America tossed the biggest hot potato in the Middle East their way. What do buyers interested in Russian arms not do when millions of dollars in NATO equipment is left for them? Buy Russian guns. Anyway, with that in mind, the "war" in the Ukraine has been going on for years longer than Western media has really talked about it. Him being sick, or mentally unwell, or whatever doesn't track when the real timeline of events is observed.

He wants permanent access to the black sea, some new ports and a naval yard, oil reserves, insane farmland and agricultural benefits. Couldn't particularly care about the people; he'll just immigrate citizens from Siberia, etc to the ruins. Gulags and penal battalions will rebuild it. But I genuinely don't think he predicted NATO would react so deliberately. For as much as Russia denies they are at war, NATO denies being involved, to the tune of billions of dollars funneled into the war economy from both sides.

NATO needs to continue to do what they are to win, more or less. Russia needs to call the worlds biggest bluff and deploy their actual combined arms capabilities to win. However, Russia is not even operating in a war economy. In fact, their GDP and assets held is projected to grow this year. An interesting and highly peace-time oriented strategy, but that's a whole other rant. In all likelihood Ukraine will capitulate much of their South, remain autonomous and independent, join NATO, and peace will be declared. NATO gets that stalwart, self-imposed nation state they can democratize directly into their paychecks due to being so indebted. Russia gains access to the black sea, continues to grow its peace-time economy, has gotten back their best arms dealer, and managed to make Scandinavia upset again for giggles. Life goes on.

They just reworked first contact yet again lol. And that right there is my main issue with paradox games. Stellaris has been arguably feature complete for years and a lot of their dlc (First contact, Federations, etc.) rework existing content, they don't add to the game explicitly. A lot has been done to adjust existing features like pops, economy, rare minerals, jump drives (used to be 3 methods, now 1.5) and it's expensive to keep up.

Anyway Stellaris is a good game. If you have patience to deal with AI that is a bit stupid, and doing dry runs to figure out "builds", you can slowly learn the ins and outs and set up some amazing custom factions to both play as and fight against. It is very easy to lose if you don't know what you're doing, however, so expect a lot of 3+ hour saves to launch out the airlock when you realize you mismanaged your tech and economy hard and managed to piss off three neighbors at the same time.

I tend to be a night owl, but that pendulum can swing wildly if I have a lot of time off work. But in short summary, kinda, yeah. I'm leaning towards no, but your explanation in the next post made me stop and pause. Sleeping for me feels like a blink most of the time. I fall asleep, I wake up. Sometimes I'll have a "dream" where I more or less listen to an audiobook that feels AI generated. Yeah. Are memories or thoughts intrusive? Like, let's say you're making a sandwich. You think about an old friend you might have had. Does your mind have a chance to like, zone out, you can see their face or maybe the clothes they wore when you saw them last?

Let's say you're at an art museum. You take a stroll, have a good time, see a dozen or so pieces you really wanted to. When you get home can you just close your eyes and see them again, just like that? Or would the "clarity" depend on how much you concentrated on it? If that makes sense.
