I buy both, but I lean towards digital for convenience. Physical isn't as important as it used to be, even if it still has its uses.

I knew Primal Rage 2 was a prototype but never knew the cabinet was out there in the world. Looking at the game list, there's a few very rare cabinets they have there. I didn't even know there was a Beavis and Butthead arcade game that was cancelled. This place has probably the only one left in existence.

Speaking of rare cabinets, they have the Alpha Renewal version of Undercover Cops. It's a very rare version of the game based on the fully completed Japanese version of the game, but in English. They got the Western version initially, but I shot them an email to upgrade it to that particular version with showcased the differences and even a youtube video showing how to convert the board which involved swapping some roms.

Oh that's because the devs wanted it to be "unique" without considering for playability. A later version was released that uses traditional Capcom style special moves.

That must've been a later release then. They didn't have it though, so no matter. Did the console ports fix that at least?

Finally played Primal Rage 2. It... was ok. But I had to play the first one first. Because I never played the original Primal Rage. I knew of it, but I never played it until my second visit. Yesterday was my third.

The way you input commands in the first Primal Rage is so weird. Mainly because you hold the buttons down and then perform the motion input. Not sure what they were thinking. And the second game is still an unfinished beta. It's playable, but I had no clue what I was doing aside from button mashing.

On a side note, I sometimes forget how playing on an actual arcade joystick feels like sometimes, especially in regards to fighting games. I'm more used to playing them with a D-Pad so this the more of a me problem. I should buy one of those someday to get used to it.

Never heard of that one.

So, a couple of years ago my cousin visited me, and one of the games he used to own was Super Metroid. It was also the only Metroid game he ever played.

Anyway, he never knew about all the sequence breaking tricks, like accessing Kraid's Lair without the High jump boots, using wall jumping to access areas earlier than intended, the glitch where you can restart the game with most of your equipment, or even saving the animals as you escape the planet. I was showing him a video for Super Metroid sequence breaks and his mind was blown. Maybe I should've showed him a speedrun of that game too.

I also showed him a few minutes of most of the other Metroid games and to be honest, Aside from maybe the Metroid Prime trilogy, I wasn't sure of any games from the series I recommended to him. He's definitely interested in checking out the rest of the series, though I told him to avoid Other M. Any recommendations on what games from the series he should play, or other Metroidvania games (Though I suggested he play Hollow Knight)?
