The early levels are brutal esp once you go to the "second area"....you feel weak for a while there even on normal. It's better than Skyrim combat. The Gamecube version blew me away when it came out...it was def the first stepping stone to "next-gen" rendering. Despite the reviews I found the PS2 version too compromised, very muddy with less enemies. Playing through it again on Switch and it's just as good as I remember.
