I've only seen the movies and TV adapations.

I read a handfil of comics but not enough to be knowledgable except that Cyclops is a dick.

But in the movies and TV shows Xavier is literally capable of destroying all life on Earth within 100 seconds.

In X-Men 2 he's "drugged" with the ease of drugging a kitten and almost kills all humans withing seconds and is barely stopped. That's ALL of them, the entire planet worth. Every single one. In seconds.

This isn't our "world" this is a world where random civilians at any time could be capable of wiping out all life on the planet in an instant.... And the guy who says "Hey we should find out who is able to do this and have a record and safeguards in place to protect literally everyone." is the bad guy?

I mean sure it's not "nice" but it seems necessary.

Christ I feel like there's a couple of people on CE who if they had that power would have wiped out all life on Earth.

Now imagine someone in the Taliban having it or one of the Jan 6ers having it or a Nazi having it. Imagine if Andrew Tate had it.

Yes I know it's an on the nose metaphor for the civil rights movement but there's a difference between different color skin and literally being able to destroy all life on Earth in moments.

Sure it sucks for Jubilee that her "privacy right" for people not to know that she can fart fireworks out of her ass is violated but within THIS SPECIFIC context, X-men planet Earth, not our Planet Earth, that seems entirely reasonable.

If I could fart fireworks out of my ass I wouldn't mind that people knew if it meant all humans on Earth weren't all killed by a lunatic one day.

I think people are going to conflate Senator Kelly with the other guys who wanted to actually murder every mutant in order to argue...but he was right and never ever seemed wrong at all unless you just had that stance and fought to stick to it. The mutants proved him right like every week.

Now Stryker and others...uh they were just modern Hitlers.

Im not condemning rap music, by the way. I love it.

But to say that Andrew Tate has somehow had this groundbreaking impact on our youth, but years and years of songs about pushing women into sex work, selling drugs, killing cops, etc. has had zero effect seems disingenuous.

What makes him different? Is it that he does this shit under the guise of teaching guys how to get women, and not as art?

Andrew Tate is the current excuse, its important to always have an excuse. 12 months ago nobody knew who Andrew Tate was. In fact he got introduced to young boys by all of the good guy streamers debating him and clipping his awful videos for views(money).

"No day goes by where I am not tempted to return to my inborn nature. What is better - to be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?" ~ Paarthurnax

Boromir is a good guy

The fact he wasn't born and raised with a "pure heart" and was a flawed human being who was tempted but overcame the temptation and died a hero to save his people arguably makes him a better person than Aragorn who never even had that struggle.

Not sure what these people are saying at all here but Borimir was raised with quite good values and virtues. His whole family is cracking under the pressure of imminent annihilation(plus his father had been going crazy since he used a seeing stone and Sauron has been at him way before he reformed himself, something cut entorely out of the movies and turened him into a stock crazy villain) by the time this little mishap comes around. Isildur was a really good guy too...it's almost like the ring has the power to corrupt people or something.

Billyionaire posted...
I think you're confusing things. He doesn't see Frodo after he tries to take the ring, and I think only in the movies is it shown he defends Merry and Pippin.

You might want to read the story again then, he says he died defending them.

I mean, Dallas fell two spots in the lottery, and traded up for the #3 pick that landed Doncic; Giannis went 15th. Are these really examples of tanking paying off?

...Yes. Dallas tanked and got a high draft picks multiple years and finally struck gold, Milwaukee tanked and got plenty of picks and trade ammo over the years, which is why they could place such a great team together in a relatively short time. Also, Giannis only fell to 15 because he was completely unknown due to his origins. If he was some D1 fast tracked hype baby he'd have been a top 5 pick even as raw as he was as a rookie.

None of these teams accomplished anything by staying the course. Dallas has actually rebuilt their team every years since 2011...they rebuilt around Luka already and he is only 3 or 4 years in.

Also, there are plenty of good male role models out there, they are simply not amplified because doing so would require media and their parents to think for a second on what actually makes a good person and that would raise some uncomfortable questions pretty quickly.

The alleged lack of role models should apply to most of the population right? And yet the vast majority of these kids who lack male role models do NOT turn out to be right wing shitheads at some point. Gen Z is even more disproportionately left than youth historically are and are way less tolerant of right wing bs. So it seems like the issue lies with these kids and their parents, not those mean old online lefties with their historical facts.

so what's the point of it?

Championships. See: San Antonio Spurs after tanking one year to draft Tim Duncan and building a NBA dynasty, Cavs for LeBron and Kyrie. Look at the compettive NBA teams today, none have a core that didn't come from tanking and frequent rebuilds. The last NBA "dynasty" of home grown, drafted players is Golden State curently 9th seed and their stars are on the way out. The owner even said they're not going to retire all together yesterday(lmao, Klay or Draymond are getting traded this offseason).

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/0/9/3/AAMz0hAAEEhV.png https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/0/9/4/AAMz0hAAEEhW.png

All these teams tanked for a war chest of picks and made moves to either form a super team or draft generational talent. These were among the worst NBA teams not long ago with the Cavs being the sole exception due to LeBron. the Maveriscks ahve been awful from Drik's last hurrah Championship until the day they drafted Luka Doncic. That's the point of it. The bucks were awful since Ray Allen left the team until they went and scouted some unknown, raw but talented 7 foot baby faced Nigerian immigrant in Greece. Danny Ainge, running joke for a whole decade for his wheeling and dealing in Boston...yea the team has a whole clutch of the best young NBA players playing at the TOP level.

Nah, teams have been tanking for a minute. What, you're going to force them to be competitive?

It's true. The bad teams are mostly tanking for picks every year trying to build a war chest of trade assets or hit the lotto on a generational talent. Look at the NBA's own team, the Pelicans. LMFAO. Tanking every single year, magically winning the draft loterry, landing Anthony Davis, he leaves, back to tanking. Land Zion Williamson.

Its not a right or left issue. Its a parenting issue. Parents need to be more mindful of what their kids are ingesting via the internet.

These younger generations will have constant access to the cesspool of the internet at all times via phones, tablets, etc., and thats detrimental to their mental health and development.

Pay attention to your kids, for fucks sake.

You're not allowed to tell people that they're responsible for their children anymore dude. Children belong to the state and to the company that makes your TV and phone. These poor parents have no control over their lives! Try and be compassionate about this and put the blame where it belongs, on people that didn't make these kids.
