All right then: the American(-esque) (and specifically American) far-left and far-right both are willing to engage in very similar behaviours and acts (shows of faux-virtue, censorship, harassment, etc.) when it's for the sake of whatever their current goal is. I know you Americans aren't particularly fond of the horseshoe theory since your society thrives on polarisation, but I think it explains much, at least behaviourally. And as someone who would probably consider myself overall centre-left(ish), it's extremely frustrating to see the left (across the world) hijacked by these actors and their bad-faith distractions (and scoring own goals because of it). --- It is, as some admiral once said, a trap.
