Yeah watching that again, it felt more metaphorical to me, like "behold! The average man! What a fool he is. Let us observe."

To me it just seems like the mostly nonverbal slapstick comedy situations caused by a guy acting really weird and childish in common situations. No more and no less.

I was not under the impression the opening credits were the intended to be part of the plot or that falling from the sky always means someone is an alien.

Personally I find him much more entertaining as just a really weird guy.

It's amazing how many right wingers even on this board feel the need to defend the most pointless things any right winger does. Fucking hell, this is going to make their "no reasonable person believes us so it's not damaging" argument look like the peak of integrity in comparison.

More or less these, but I suspect the way they will do it in order to sound like it's a professional defense will be to use it to suggest that satire, even satire about how voting machines works is protected speech and that the clip is an example of this in action. "You see, the constitution allows for people to make statements that aren't true in entertainment".

This is of course a lie, but it does tie into a previous case they won that implied they were simply entertainment and not news so they are probably hoping the precedent helps. "It's a joke bro" but all pretty sounding. Not to mention the Simpsons was on "fox" so they can try to convince the jury that "Fox has totally been making election jokes before, why are people upset now? It must be a political hit job" by muddying the waters between "Fox news" and "Fox tv".

Just as I would prefer to live in a society that would fail to convint someone rather than arrest an innocent for nothing, I'd rather live in a society that prioritizes feeding the starving than punishing those who steal a crust of bread. Because that's what footstamps are; a pittance. If you think a hundred bucks a month for groceries is some sort of wild indulgence that's the rich making you fight your own, someone who isn't much poorer than you, rather than question why the senators who tell you those slackers shouldn't get free health care are all getting it themselves or why their corporate masters all get more personal jets.

To be clear here, she was probably paid 2.50 an hour for the privilege of serving these people who can pay $700 for dinner. Another $70 to make it a proper tip percentage is not going to kill them. I know. It sounds like a lot of money for a tip. But that's what happens you spend nearly a k on dinner. Pro tip; them spending more means she put more work in and deserves more money rather than less.

I admit I'm surprised to hear that, because I don't recall EGM or Nintendo Power or Game Informer doing that in all the years I read them, which was quite a few. I always personally took it as a compliment; the turn based heavily story and character based more linear RPG was a format I really liked and still do.

That being said, I am seeing a backlash now and I hate to spread a term people are going against. It's certainly a rug pull moment for me though since I used to say I loved jrpgs proudly, like "These games are awesome". Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy were an awakening for me as a kid, helpfully spurred on by Mario RPG being a fantastic jumping on point for a kid who used to just like platformers.
