Between the types of videos like this and the numerous videos of Ukranians dropping grenades on Russians (one even showed the dude kill himself afterward), this has got to be the most recorded conflict in history. I don't remember seeing such readily available footage of any other conflict just out there and easy to find on your average morning shit scroll.

Yeah, there's quite a lot of places like that around northern england/southern scotland, especially down the east coast. My family's favourite beach to drive to in the summer is near Holy Island, known for being attached to the UK by one road that gets swallowed by the sea twice a day by very fast tides. The whole island is attached to the UK by a big plain of quicksand. The video mentions your chest being compressed but most quicksand pockets (like in the video) will only get you down to thigh/hip depth, but it's not disappearing under the sand that's the concern; it's that these quicksand pockets exist because the tide is going to rise and rise quickly. You get a leg stuck, and before you can wiggle it free, the tide has risen over the top of you.

the main difference is speed, singles becomes a lot more about switching pokemon. doubles matches go a lot faster, which is good for a tournament. Also any individually good pokemon, ones that can single-handedly sway a singles game, can be dealt with easier in doubles via just targeting them with both pokes, so it allows more variety in play.

don't get me wrong, I prefer singles and cba with the doubles in-game (though that could just be because you were never much forced to consider it), but as far as setting up something competitively, the time difference between a 6vs6 singles game and a 4vs4 doubles is massive

Without the Flying type to give it some vulnerabilities, Gen 1 Gyarados would have been Mewtwo-tier.

remove the flying type, you remove the immunity to earthquake - its key way to switch into a battle. and while gen 1 Gyarados has some excellent attacking stats and movepool, and a decent special to handle defence on that side, it isn't particularly impressive for physical defence. It'd still be good, but it would be just another name on a long list of "pokemon that can only really work once you've beaten the opponent's Tauros"

no, all these generated pokemon (max IVs, max IVs except one set to 0, etc) are all possible to have in the normal game, you could make them and play with them through the in-game breeding system. it just takes a fucking AGE of grinding RNG hoping that one of the pokemon you're generating happens to have those numbers line up. All this "hacking" is doing is skipping that grinding. Not skipping practicing, not skipping teambuilding, just skipping the mindless grinding.
