Arguing about this sort of thing online is always so dumb. Yeah, it's easy to analyze the situation and formulate what the perfect solutions would have been when you're sitting at home safely on your computer reviewing every angle of a video and not actually in an intense, instantaneous fight or flight situation.

What do you mean gobbled up? It had a massive amount of refund requests, so much that I believe Sony and MS had expanded refund policies specifically for the game since it had so many. If you mean like pre-orders, it's not hard to imagine why everyone was hyped, it was promised as this beautiful and massive cyberpunk game coming off the heels of what many consider to be one of the GOAT games and I remember it reviewing very well.

It's pretty obviously misleading because it makes you think weight loss done in a healthy way impacts the mortality of older adults before it finally discusses that they mean unintended weight loss most likely due to other physical or mental health factors. People are just going to read the headline and go "see! It's better to stay fat! No exercise or healthy eating for this guy!"

People outside of the Internet aren't usually hyper-obsessed with politics to an insane degree where it's the only thing they're capable of talking about. It gets exhausting. And most people just want a friendly co-existence and not a constant frothing politics battle where neither side is going to change their views anyway. Especially if you're in a professional setting or a big group get-together.

The only thing I think it did better than recent Fallout was the dialog options. That part of it was fun, had a lot of variety how to respond.

The first part of it was kinda annoying, though. Felt like some kid off the Internet wanted to grab me by the shirt and shake me screaming "CAPITALISM IS BAD!!"

I wanted to like it but it just got boring. If I remember right, it was fairly low-budget, though. I think if Microsoft throws more money into a sequel, it might be a challenger to Fallout.

PesticideDream

Probably yes and no. I think it's a human thing with any piece of media. Sometimes the author/songwriter/whatever didn't intend any deeper meaning but people make it something deeper than it is, but some authors/songwriters/whatever do create with the intention of having some meaning to their craft.

There seems to be some Internet movement to analyze any depth as pretentious. Like with the curtains are blue thing, a lot of great writers incorporate techniques like metaphors and symbolism. All throughout human history, emotional states have been linked to colors and weather and personalities compared to animals, etc. One of the basics of good storytelling is Show, Don't Tell: blue curtains are a good way of expressing depression instead of just writing "John is depressed and sad" and if they're going out of their way to describe the interior decoration, it probably means something.

I love books and classic literature, and I always enjoyed book discussions in class. Maybe they were making shit up and talking out of their ass, but they did sometimes give me new ways to think about certain stories and gave them some more depth.

Depends. If you're just starting out, you're all about that money. Once you've got some years under your belt and you've got a comfortable amount of money to live on with some nice savings, I think vacation time and work-life balance and benefits become more important than just the paycheck alone. At this point in my life, I could move up and make a ton of money, but it's a ton more hours. I'm living comfortably and rather have that free time than more money.
