And for that reason I am an even bigger fan of open setups than I thought. All vanilla is okay....but if there's power I like it wiiiide open.

That also allows way more integration with the flavor. I didnt feel like I was playing TALES OF THE ABYSS mafia. Other than that, the site features were great and the players were great.

Serial Killer also shot me night 1....and I was the mafia bulletproof. And SK exposed me after he got caught. That's how I got found out. ;0;

General rules question for no particular reason:
If a player with a limited number of abilities, such as a jack or one time vig, gets roleblocked, do they permanently lose the action that they took? Or can it be used again on a future night?

Default is that they do get it back and it is not used up. Most of the time this is specified in the role PM though because it can change depending on the role and how the host wants to balance it

By fight harder I dont just mean telling us not to kill him. I mean clarifying his stance on Lea. When he flips town do we kill Lea? Thatr sort of thing

In that case I'd have expected a stronger plea before he knew that he would have to go. Especially from a Town "uncountered doctor" Ulti.

I'd be more concerned if Ulti was here fighting, but he is not, so the pendulum swings back to him being most likely scum.

Yes. I have a doubt or two. Does he think he can 1:1 Lea in that scenario? Because that is the only motivation behind making the play that he did. I don't think he was the lynch today if I'm being honest before he did that whole contradictory flavor thing

If Ulti is scum, the natural assumption is that he is fakeclaiming, yes.

If this is his explanation that he naturally assumed Ulti is fake claiming, then damn that is a lot of confidence. If Death was one of the people already voting him or had said he would be voting Ulti if less people were already on him, then I'd have an easier time accepting it. I think it's a weird thing for Death to say whether Ulti is scum or town, because of the level of implied confidence in the state of the game.

Looking back Ulti didnt even start fakeclaiming King until page 3, after folks already called him more serious than usual.

Looks like an overcorrection to me that didnt pan out.

One should also keep in mind that Ulti's attitude towards Lea in general was questionable at best.
He said he suspected her for a long time (since the flavor claim) and yet did nothing against her for most of day1?

I completely agree with the feeling that he's on a few occasions suddenly decided on a direction on a whim. Even the initial claim of King felt like the timing was too random.

And I think his dodging of Lea's questions looks intentional at the moment, just like his dodging of some players' suspicions when Sbell brought up work into the game.

Ulti did say he shouldn't be lynched because was an "Uncountered doctor" at one point. I do not like that. That looks like an attempt to bait a doctor to counter. That seems like a dangerous thing for a real town jailkeeper to be saying.

Then again Ulti claimed he was bulletproof day 1 last game for reasons that make no sense as well so I cant fully say his decisions in regards to claiming should make sense

Hmmmmm. Well I havent been struck by any clear town tells yet in Ulti's responses to all these votes. I dont feel his pushing back has been all that strong.

But claiming that Lea is lying about her flavor seems like a bad scum strat as well. Do we think Ulti feels he can push Lea's lynch in his universe in that moment? Maybe he thought jailkeeper was strong enough to support himself, but then why act all game prior that claiming jailkeeper is going to get himself mislynched? That aspect feels more like town forced into a situation he didnt plan for.

Ulti, question for you. Is there any way you and Lea and you can both be town or is it absolutely one of you in a contrdiction?

ctes is one of the smartest people around, and that isnt just flattery. Its the truth. He is an actual genius. So I really doubt he would make a mistake like this. Youre either scum or this is an atrocious flavor trap, and I very very very much doubt he would put such a dumb flavor trap in the setup. Personally I feel Ulti trying "to catch" Lea here is a hamfisted attempt to townclear Lea and Lea is bussing Kirby and if I were to gamble I'd pin the scumteam as

I interpret that as Kirby saying not that you necessarily gained town equity, but that you hadn't gained any scum equity in his book. And for that reason he was giving you some town equity.

But I'm willing to reevaluate my read, sure. I'll have plenty of time to reread topic 1 tomorrow afternoon when I'm getting my hair done.

I think it was too early for me to give him any scum equity considering his reasons he gave for what a "typical scum tell" was were very specific and based on circumstances that didnt happen immediately in those other games. But he went on my defense in this one pretty immediately.

Like in Paper Mario Mafia when at the start of the day you felt the need to justify your absence at the previous EoD despite literally nobody asking was a red flag for me. And then when you made JC claim but then refused to claim yourself, that absolutely sold me that you were scum.

There are just some posts that you make in a certain way that make me think "This is totally scum Ben" when I read them. So far, you haven't made any posts like that yet.

Big thing that gave me pause over Kirby was that he called me "Mega Town" early and unlike a lot of games lately the rest of town haven't been agreeing with him.

I think scum Kirby has a PhD in Lopen psychology so I have been a bit wary.

I think you're easy to call town if you are town because town reading you based on your conspiracies is widely known. I dont even know if you've done gone far enough this game for me to town read you based on this, but Kirby seems to think you have. So I can absolutely say that you are town if Kirby is scum.

Lopen, I can concede that Ben's initial vote on Sbell is what sparked the fire that's putting Sbell under heavy scrutiny. That's not something in Ben's favor, but he feels town-ish to me. It's not a strong town read, but I haven't noticed any of his typical scum tells, or at least my intuition hasn't been telling me "Ben is totally scum" from reading his posts.

But also I dont feel I deserved such an early town read from you given that I have been very withholdy and lazy so far this game. Like I get the idea of "No scum tells", but was I really posting enough to be giving any tells either? I certainly dont feel I did enough to warrant a defense, so unless you can read me better than I can read myself I think there is something fishy going on and you have positioned yourself to get on my good side coming into this game.

I read the flowchart and its the best thing Isquen has going for him at the moment.

During the Ulti/ sbell bout, he felt very much like he was trying to keep the peace and was a sane, guiding force. It was the same tone that he used on me at the paper Mario end game that pulled me out from my ass to win the game.
