They are larger than a normal sized man's arms. A normal male could fit in the seat. This overweight woman was not the size of a normal sized male who isn't overweight.

Your number 2 is hyperbolic.

Yes airlines seats have been shrinking, but not enough that an average male couldn't fit. The average male just can't spread out like they use to anymore. We Americans just want everything plus sized, with anything less being viewed as unacceptable.

This woman has no sympathy whatsoever from me.

It's remarkable how many people here are trying to pin this on "fat people" instead of, y'know, the airlines making the seats as small and unaccomodating as possible in order to cram in as many people as they can so *of course* stuff like this would happen eventually.

Many of these same people will then go turn around and lecture other people on the internet about how it's wrong to victim blame, remaining blissfully unaware of their hypocrisy.
You are making a lot of assumptions that is a lot to unpack.

I judge shit on a case by case basis, and this woman is no victim. So your analogy to "victim blaming" is laugh worthy.

The airlines actions of trying to cram people is not am excuse for being a 2+ seat sized woman wanting a free seat.

Which makes sense, since he is just a man with no supernatural powers after the Triforce dissipated right before the fight.
To be fair, Ganondorf in that timeline wasn't gunning for blood per se. He only killed when he thought it was absolutely necessary like the sages.

The boss fight had him bitch slap Zelda instead of trying to kill her. With him outright putting his sword away to bitch slap her to get her out of the way.

I consider the fact that the majority of this nation is overweight, how many already don't fly because they don't think they can fit in a seat? This would open up more options for more people, I don't disagree with you at all, but people aren't going to address their weight problems head on, that's become apparent. I follow science for generally everything, and being obese is not healthy, i'm not sure why that's become a thing or an opinion that it is.
Nah, people just need to stop embracing being overweight as something to be prideful about and thinking the world needs to bend over to accommodate that.

The airlines are not struggling enough to care about accommodating overweight people so they'll be fine. If overweight people want two seats, pay for it. Maybe that can be a wake up call to start changing their diet.

I'm all for not shaming them, but the body positivity movement has gotten a tad too far in embracing an unhealthy body and lifestyle. Our culture embraces being overweight as nothing you can do about it, and it needs to stop for these peoples health.

Maybe have the back two rows be wide seats, charge price and a half for each or something along those lines. But no, an additional seat for free because you are obese shoudn't be an option.
Airlines don't need to do that either.

Sure we don't need to body shame people, but this new age body positivity goes a bit too far acting like being overweight is healthy and the world should accommodate that.

The airlines can do whatever it wants, but I highly doubt it's doing to accommodate something that isn't profitable to accommodate.

Which can be said about a lot of automobiles, which is the response you were quoting when you said I was making wild assumptions.

But judging by other people's responses, and not just mine, the non-hauling pickup driver stereotype exists for a reason. Same reason there's a stereotype surrounding older men driving sports cars.

Most stereotypes are based in reality.
Which is all still an assumption no matter how you dress it and put it in a bow.

You claimed in this topic people buy trucks to look manly. That is an ignorant assumption.

Pointing to a stereotype doesn't make your ignorant assumptions fact. Nor does pointing to one make it reality.

Relying on what you believe to be stereotypes to back up your claim is ignorant as well.

It's not the customers responsibility to make sure your take home pay is high.

It may suck to get a $10 tip, but this waitress like many seem to have it twisted that it's a customers responsibility to make sure they make 70+/hour, or even 15+/hour. With the major irony of forgetting there are loads of customers who eat at the restaurants who take home less pay than the waitress.

That thought probably doesn't even cross many of these waitresses minds because there seems to be this over inflated level of importance placed on servers. The thought of people working worse jobs with less take home pay eating at restaurants too doesn't even truly cross this waitresses mind.

The mindset of f*** them, they should take a vow of suffering to make sure their OWN take home pay is higher.

This mindset that people who can't afford tips shouldn't eat out "because it stiffs the little guy" but self awareness at all just how many jobs get stiffed seeing as they get no tips at all so they overall see less take home pay.

andel posted...
no one attempting to address that has a compelling argument at all
There is no compelling argument that demands the customer to tip. Nor is there a compelling argument for the bad assumption everyone who eats at restaurants is taking home more pay than the server. Nor is there a compelling argument for why some think servers are a special unicorn class of workers that are the only ones suffering.

If you want to tip, then tip. But what you think is compelling for customers to foot an extra charge is not the compelling case you think it is to anyone who actually stops to think about other shitty jobs with shitty pay existing who dont get tips.... also eat at resteraunts. Same to not falling prey to the misconception that an employer can legally pay you less than minimum wage if tips are short.

I want living wages to be something for all jobs at the responsibility of the employer.

tipping culture is dumb and fucked up but since it does exist people should tip at minimum 15% to resteraunt servers. if you want to protest tipping culture just don't eat in at resteraunts. claiming you are 'against tipping' while subsidizing the bad guys and stiffing the little guy is peak hypocrisy.
This flawed logic has been addressed by many.

Including the ass backwards logic that ignores servers "stiff the little guy" as well. Servers are not a special unicorn, and their take home pay is ofteb more than a lot of the "little guys" they get upset at who didn't tip them "enough."

In fact the thought likely doesn't even cross their mind. So on the note of peak hypocrisy, it's hypocritical for anyone taking home 35+/hour, to think everyone eating at a restaurant is balling. Or that they have the audacity to eat out if they make 8/hour and can't afford to make sure a server is paid 20/hour.

It's kind of relatable to the Republicans and their logic of, "you can't be struggling if you have the audacity to treat yourself to something you don't really need." Everyone who goes to a restaurant should tip you 20% and if they don't or cant affort it they shouldn't be eating out?

Then the government gets tired of the bullshit and just uses a search warrant and finds a ton more.

Clearly there's a difference between the two.
