My local paper (San Francisco Chronicle) has a fund to help people get back on their feet. Its generally a one-time deal, like providing a security deposit or paying for an expensive car repair or something, generally a few thousand dollars. Is there anything like that in your area? You mentioned the library- have you talked to a librarian who might know of some local resources?

No one cared how many "views" or "streams" an artist like Mariah Carey had in the 90's. All she did was put out 19 different songs that went to #1 on the Billboard chart.

By comparison, Drake has 11. But Drakes download and streaming numbers dwarf both of theirs.

As far as album sales all time, Drake isn't even in the top 20, and that includes online sales.

My parents had a collection of Shakespeare with photos from stage productions. There was a picture of Patrick Stewart playing Touchstone in As You Like It. For some reason I thought that was really cool. I found it when ST:TNG was still on the air.

Chromebooks are much less likely to pick up viruses and malware because they dont have much memory. Everything is running on the web and not internally on the device.

Of course, that also is a drawback.

CBs are great if you mostly use Google apps or browse the web. Theyre not so great for things like photo editing, gaming, or number crunching/data analysis. So it really depends on what the user is planning to do with it.

Was it simply Covid ruining all travel for a year?

Disneyland was closed for months, almost a year I think. Californias Covid rules actually caused Disney to move some of its operations to Florida. Im not sure if those moves were permanent. Theaters also were closed, causing movies that year to go straight to streaming.

FTR, I support Californias choices regarding Covid. Im just pointing out how they hurt Disneys profits.

I dont have the link, but there was some interview where Grogu was mentioned as being 89 or so in the new Rey sequel(s). I think there was some more that I dont remember. I would lean in the highly implied camp because I think those stories arent written yet and this person was just speculating.

I never expected Jack Black, Lizzo and Christopher Lloyd in Star Wars.

Episode was a lot of fun. A bit messy and fillery, but I enjoyed it.

Tbh, Christopher Lloyd seems like a perfect fit for Star Wars.

I'm super nervous and been on the fence about it all day. I've been going back and fourth. Talked to all the people I trust most in life for major life decisions, other than wife it was my dad, brother in law, and 2 of my best friends. The consensus opinion was if we love the house and we can make it work financially then go for it.

Totally normal to feel those nerves! When you find the right house, you know. And that's a great area - not likely to be subject to the wild swings some parts of the state are prone to.

Soprano sax was my first thought; it's the most logical for you.

Interest rates are really high. Homes dont appraise for a high enough value and lenders balk. Buyers cant come up with the difference and have to walk away. (This is just one possible scenario but a common one.)

You dont have to be a millionaire to purchase a $1.7M home; most of that value will be tied up in a mortgage (for most people). But there are many people on here who are old enough to have accumulated more than $1 million in net worth.

Good luck! You should have a good shot what with so many sales falling out of escrow lately. Sellers likely are nervous and will take a solid offer (or should if theyre smart).
