There's a pretty obvious difference between Rowling getting royalties from Legacy and somebody buying second-hand copies of 20 year old console games that aren't sold by the publisher anymore. Not even mentioning the more likely way people would play those games

Extend that to pens, rulers, fluffy toys, Dobble lol, even clicking on the HP website or watching a HP trailer. Completely shun any brand new purchase or click, on anything that might financially benefit the franchise.

People aren't really ready to totally abandon the franchise even via new purchases.

Obviously seeking out deepfakes of your friends and co-workers is an extremely niche problem to even be able to have, but.... Deepfakes are morally wrong, but really let's not pretend this behavior is some weird anomaly from normal human sexual behavior. Deep fakes are just the new and strange thing.

They're not an employer that particularly cares about or tries to earn employees' respect, so why should employees respect them?

That kind of attitude ensures poor customer service. - "i know we got more in the back, but i can't be bothered and besides, it's walmart!" , bored look, no interaction
Lack of care with goods - slam boxes with tvs down, damaging them ensuring customer gotta come back, placing things in wrong place
Lack of personal hygiene - not washing hands, wiping nose on back of sleeve,

I mean, that kind of employee who isn't even going to pretend to care isnt someone you want working in your business anyway. I know there are some who make the job their life: that's not mandatory, but in this front end customer service job, I expect a somewhat decent experience as a customer, and all these things affect that experience.

I believe a lot of it has to do with it being an accountability and mindset thing... I'll forever thank my dad for drilling it into my head. Because of him and I won't allow myself to do a s*** job at work because I'm not willing to sign my name to something of poor quality. If I'm going to do something, especially where other people are depending on me to perform - then I'm giving it full effort.
