^Me time has been VERY lacking since the kids were born. We never had any for 6 years now and we are irritable as hell because of it.

Our problem is we have no one else to watch the kids but the wife's parents and they never want to watch them outside of us working.

Not to my mother in law. She says it doesn't exist at all and that we need psychiatric help.

Neither me or my partner ever get a break from our kids and we are never usually this irritable or easily angered with things our kids do

My mother in law said we both need therapy but all I think we need is more breaks from the kids to not be cranky, angry, or mad all the time. I researched what our problem is and apparently it's called parental burnout

But my mother in law doesn't believe something like this exists and that we just need to fix our attitudes and we don't need a break

Most people aren't on that level as far as I know. It's way more common to see people that are paycheck to paycheck and can only afford to pay their bills and expenses and not be able to make vacation trips.

Ask janitors, bus drivers, or secretaries and they'll know exactly what I'm talking about

It seems that way unless you either get really lucky with career connections, you hit it big as an entrepreneur, or you are from a rich/well off family.

Majority of people just seem to make enough to pay the bills.

I don't care really as long as she's a great person and she has other things to offer me. We can work together and I can do my best to put her in a better situation.
