Yep apparently the TotK ROM is floating around out there now, so if you don't want to be spoiled, be very careful.

Also just cleared Chapter 6 on Hard and Very Hard, and cleared 9 on Normal and Hard. Only mission I haven't cleared on Hard is 7, and no idea how I'm supposed to do that. So I did a bunch of GPs and unlocked Master mode.

Serious answer, it's because of the rapidly growing acceptance of them. There are people who still consider them mutilated freaks, who just up out of nowhere adopted the transgender "culture", and the idea of them convincing their children to do the same is a great way to fearmonger. None of that is based in reality, but that's what happens when you cling to an unchanging fundamental view of the world. Just a couple years ago we were pretending that being gay was a choice.

Basically it's just them digging a deeper whole, since we're all still pissed about the way they treated the gays. One day they'll pretend they were cool with transgender people all along. And they love speaking out of both sides of their mouths, on one side calling them child grooming pedophiles, and out the other saying they just want reasonable limits so that people don't rush into it and make a mistake.

I don't know if it's my joycons or my Switch itself but they keep coming detached while playing. Not sure how to fix it if it's the Switch.

Joycons are basically cardboard and will all break eventually. Never seen one of those $70 controllers last more than 2 months without breaking.

If I bought a motorcycle and modded it, then posted a video on how to do it on the internet, it would be no different. It would just be easier for the courts to understand. Maybe consider that these corporations don't need your personal protection.

It's possible they don't even believe their own nonsense, they just do these things because they have a legal obligation to their shareholders.

A cheat that's built into the game is part of the game.

A "real" cheat is a tiny scripted program that directly modifies the game's memory during runtime. Patches override the ROM at certain addresses, either acting as a middleman for the address space over overwriting the ROM. There's no technical difference between a mod and a patch. Me writing a program to flip a single bit could be referred to interchangeably as a mod or a patch. Patches carry the connotation that it's "fixing something", while a mod is used to refer to the same thing except it's "adding or modifying features".

Oh so what PointCrow did is he commissioned someone to make a multiplayer mod for BotW, which you cannot do that. That is such a blatant breach of the software license, that Nintendo has to step in. The fact they just claimed his videos and didnt sue him, he got off easy.

Apparently in the US modding is viewed as copyright infringement, which is kind of stupid, since none of the mods include game files. The courts describe them as "distributing alterations of the game", which is misleading, since it implies it's distributing the game, which it's not.

Mods are better summarized as "a program that alters your games to do something else". They're programs that change your game, not derivatives of the game.

If I wrote a program that flipped one bit in your BotW game to make an item invincible, then shared that program, by the above logic that would be copyright infringement, because I "distributed a derivative copy of the game". If mods are piracy, then cheats and patches should also be copyright infringement. They do the same thing.

Feels like the US courts failed to understand how patches work, treating them as if with each patch a full copy of the game was included in the download, and after accepting that false premise went "this isn't protected as a parody".

Whenever you include another file or class you need to include the header file instead of the matching .cpp file. The C/C++ compiler isn't smart enough to do half the compilation automatically, but some people like it that way.
