oh really? would you say that most of the retail customers you dealt with, sucked?
I mean....yes there are customers that flat out suck. And yes they factor into why I don't want to deal with customers. The biggest issues is how stupid society has become in general. I just don't want to deal with that stupidity. I am good at being professional and kind and respectful even when guests or customers get to being extremely disrespectful to me. I know how to exercise control and maintain a friendly professional demeanor.

I just don't want to do that because of how bad society has become in general. Be it stupid, clueless, argumentative, karen-like, disrespectful, lacking common sense etc etc....

I simply don't want to have to deal with it. That is why I would only do an overnight shift. Those are typically when the location is closed to the public and simply involves restocking the store. I can get the work done, get paid and only interact with the other overnight workers.

What did we learn? We learned that Americans are so entitled and privileged that they don't truly understand what it means to actually lose freedom. Idiot Americans actually think being told to wear masks for a period of time to help contain the spread of a sickness is a legit loss of freedom. They legitimately thought they were having their freedom taken from them. I mean.......how flucking entitled does a society need to be to completely lose sight of what freedom actually is and think what we had to go through as a society can actually be misconstrued as having your freedoms taken from you?

That is what we learned. We learned how privileged, entitled and spoiled American society is. On top of how dumb and ignorant it already was.

Worked retail more as a high schooler and 1st year college student. Then got into the restaurant industry and now guest bartend at several spots as a side gig to my IT job.

I won't go back to retail unless I absolutely have to and if I do it would have to be night shifts only. I have absolutely no desire to deal with customers in the retail environment. Just......no.....

Dan_Haren- posted...
Why should I pay the healthcare bills of someone who smokes, drinks, does IV drugs, is overweight by 200 lbs and eats little ceasars twice a day?
It's called being a good person and having a genuinely humane society. Two things that are sorely missing today in America.

In the past 150+ years the American country has taken massive leaps and bounds in

* Healthcare / Medical Science
* Medical Recovery / Treatment sciences
* Basic Technology
* Advanced Technology
* Military / Defense Technology
* Mental Health Science
* Quality of Life Advancements / Technology
* Automotive, Aeronautical and Nauticall transportation Technology

* as well as several other areas that I am forgetting right at this moment.

All of these areas of life we have pushed forward and made amazing advances and achieved great things.

The one area that we have seemingly gotten worst at while improving all these other aspects of society is how we treat one another on a personal level.

* Disrespect is such a common place thing now.
* Common Sense has long been dead and next to no one is trying to bring it back.
* As a society we immediately seem to bend the knee to capitalism and anything that works in the name of making money.
* We are slowly just blindly succumbing to quietly following the letter of the law regardless of the context of the situation.
* Money officially rules and governs our politicians and the people we put into positions of power to represent us.
* In the name of making money it is increasingly becoming widely accepted that denying individuals and citizens of this country (America) affordable access to life saving / life dependent medicine and life saving / life dependent medical treatments and procedures is okay so long as share holders, owners of the companies are doing it in a technically legal manner.
* Being educated is only valued if it can help someone or a company make money.
* If education is used to showcase corruption, or demand accountability from corporations, or show that money must be spent to treat the common individual better on a basic level, then that education is immediately questioned, ridiculed and pushed to the side.

How we treat our fellow human beings has been degrading for the past 100+ years. Doing the right thing is only accepted if it also helps make money. Otherwise it's thrown on the trash heap.

This is one of the biggest problems with modern society. This is the hardest problem to fix as well. Because this solution takes time and patience to grow and manifest. It takes a few generations to be raised properly before we start seeing a meaningful effect. Thus......nobody pushes back on when doing the right thing is what needs to be done. It's easier to just give the problem money and make it go away.

I could be wrong. I just know that for as long as I can remember the big reason why incest is inherently bad is because it promotes the passing on of genetic mutations and defects to the next generation. I don't know what the chances of getting the genetic defects / mutations are increased by. I just know that since I was a kid this was the major reason why it was bad to practice incest.

I could be wrong or this could have been proven wrong and I just never learned it was or cared to know.

I have quite a few friends who are deep into coffee and go out of their way to get very specific beans, roasts or whatever to their liking. So because of them I have tried a number of hard to find coffee types made in elaborate setups that are beyond me.

I simply never got into coffee. Can't stand it and don't want it. I don't hate or bash anyone that does. I might lightly give a friend some grief in a good natured sort of way. But to each their own.

I always preferred Horlicks as my hot morning beverage. I have loved it since I was a kid and it's stuck to me strong all through my life.

But again....to each their own.

Politics in general were better when people actually cared to educate themselves and stay informed on the political choices and beliefs they supported. As opposed to today where it seems like more and more people are willing to blindly trust whichever politician happens to stand for what an they believe in. Oddly they will do this while also simultaneously screaming at anyone who does not agree with them that the government cannot be trusted and everything the government says or produces that is in direct opposition to what an individual believes in is a form of fake news and government collusion to keep the people oppressed and under its "thumb". This is done on both sides of the political spectrum.

When individuals make a conscious effort to educate themselves on what they believe in from both sides of the debate it is remarkable how things change when it comes to discourse. This leads to an actual exchange of ideas, philosophical beliefs and informed back and fourth banter as opposed to almost immediately degrading into a shouting match of insults and childish exchanges.

While the internet is an amazing resource and tool that can be used to educate one's self. It unfortunately has had the opposite effect on American society as a while. It has helped to make our society dumber as a whole. They worst part about this is that society seems to be ok with just accepting being dumb on a day to day basis.

There is a phrase.

"Focus on doing the little things right and the bigger things will simply fall into place."

American society has fully embraced the meaning of this phrase in the worst way possible.

This is not to say that every single person does this and is like this. It just seems to be widely accepted behavior.

None of these games are anything like what the Harry Potter game is going to be. Just because they have magic in them does not make them good replacements.

Also....better solution.

Raise future generations to be accepting of people of all backgrounds and personal choices instead of some stupid crusade to boycott a game just to attempt and fail to hurt someone financially. This boycott being successful only makes the game fail and punishes the developers and those who worked hard on something they were passionate about. That in and of itself is wrong and only temporary.

Focus on a longer more impactful lasting solution to anti-trans views that will help not only today but future generations in acceptance of Trans individuals. This in the grand scheme of everything does nothing at all to help stop the problems that trans-individuals are experiencing. This might only make it worse for them.

Damn....be better please. Smdh

By that logic then Goku is also not important because he could simply be replaced by another character by the writer. And the writer could have had this new character do everything that Goku did. So this means Goku is also not important correct?

Just want to make sure I am following the logic here.

The past several decades where this mindset of mindless hours of sacrifice to move ahead in a job or career path needs to die. I get it's sometimes necessary, but having employees who are also happy with the home/work life balance is another way to get strong productive employees who also WANT to work for you.
