You actually have a good point. I love dogs and have a dog of my own that I rescued from a shelter. Grew up with dogs and have adopted them all from shelters. But the sad reality is that people continue to breed them and/or don't get them spayed/neutered. Then a lot of those dogs get abandoned or sent to shelters because they have shitty owners. It's a cycle that'll probably never end because humans are selfish and think of dogs more as living property than as companions.

In an ideal world, we wouldn't have shelters and wouldn't have to adopt dogs. It's cool that there are all sorts of cute dog breeds, but I don't have any respect for people who breed dogs because they're ultimately contributing to the problem. Would much rather live in a world where dogs don't have to suffer abuse and neglect than one where I get the privilege of adopting one and giving it a home.

I'm kinda hoping that DeSantis wins the Republican nomination, then Trump runs as an independent to spite him because he's a butthurt manchild who can't handle losing. Trump would siphon away a significant number of Republican votes, ensuring neither of them gets anywhere.

This is what I'm hoping happens. Republicans getting so confused on what they want and actually questioning which crazy person they want to follow. Hopefully some of them will realize they're both fucking psycho and reevaluate their political views. Probably expecting too much from them though for that to ever happen.

hardware is really starting to show its age

Switch has been showing its age since pretty much release day. Granted there are some games that look great, but it is seriously time for an upgrade. I don't even care if they delay Prime 4 again so it can be on the next Nintendo console. If Prime remastered can look this good on the Switch I want something even better for a fully fledged new entry in the Prime series.

Should I give Dread a second chance? Started it a year ago and played a few hours but never returned to it. Didn't really feel like I wanted to play it, but whatever bits I did play were enjoyable. Does it get better as the game progresses?

Don't listen to this. I just did 10 mg with my wife last week and we were both dying laughing at stuff we don't normally laugh at and both unexpectedly became really horny at one point. Also just felt very dumb and out of it.

Maybe for some people 10 mg does nothing, but for a lot of people with no tolerance 10 mg is enough to have a good time.

I don't know anyone who listens (or really has ever listened) to AM radio. I think my parents used to, but that was in the 2000s. FM is still fairly popular I think. I like station surfing during my commutes and it's good for NPR also.

That's good. Idk how often you eat fatty/calorie dense foods but risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease is still there even in people with normal cholesterol.

Because most of the recommendations don't make any sense, and are usually what I specifically said that I'm not looking for.

I said that I'm looking for genuinely scary stuff with lyrics, I tried several songs that people recommended. Most of the ones I tried to listen to didn't have lyrics, and the ones that did are goofy songs that make you laugh.

It's like asking for a recommendation for a really great, serious action movie with a lot of really great dialogue, and every reply I see is either a larger than life comedy, or has no actual dialogue.

it doesn't have to be costly. Plenty of poorer nations have a ton of vegetarian populations. You don't need to buy specialty products.

Vegetarian diet isn't costly, but living a pure vegan lifestyle can definitely be.

You could start by switching to fish and chicken only, and then if you wanted to keep going, continue with an all veg diet.

Pure vegan diet is intense, costly, and basically a complete life style change. Unless it's something that sounds appealing to you I'd consider not jumping right into that.

fruity pebbles is still excellent cereal

it's honestly still enjoyable but goddam it is definitely not as good as it used to be. idc if it made me overweight in elementary school and potentially increased my risk of getting cancer. that sweet "fruity" perfectly textured cereal was incredible. now it's just a puffed up rice with less flavor and sweetness :(

same with trix. trix is basically just "fruit-flavored" kix. I wasn't a huge fan of trix but it was still enjoyable. now it's just bleh.

a lot of cereals have gotten nerfed in terms of flavor...Fruity Pebbles, Cocoa Puffs and probably a lot more. They just taste...healthy. Like Fruity Pebbles tastes like flavored Rice Krispies and Cocoa Puffs tastes like chocolate-flavored Kix. Doesn't taste at all like how they used to. Cap'n Crunch with the berries is still a solid cereal though. Tastes exactly how I remember it tasting in grade school. Sugary and with the same exact flavor.

Animation looks incredible. Always makes me wonder why a lot of video game to movie adaptations try to do things with real actors. My only gripe is Mario looks a bit off, but it still looks enough like him for it to not be annoying.

Had zero expectations before watching the trailer and now I'm actually hyped. They did a great job with it
