These posts have been making me look at my shared space in a different way. I don't really have much to say in response OP. Your posts touch on what I know are some of my deepest fears, but the focus on the good memories and the transition from a shared life is also hopeful.

Like I said, I don't have much to contribute, but these topics are valuable to me.

Not "defending Nintendo" - their sales are always predictably underwhelming... but this might be incomplete.
It's a press release. The language of the article says there will be more eshop deals, though. The listed games are the physical retail deals, I believe.

I do t mind bayo with Luca. I always figured she was pretty much bi anyway, especially in 2.

bayo 3 was just. Clearly a hodgepodge of 4 different games that got cancelled and the multiverse was an excuse to slap them together in hopes to make some sort of profit. Like at one point it was definitely an open world. Then it wasnt. 90% of the actua important story bits, like the pact between bayo and her summons ending in like 3 days anyway.. were never mentioned once in cutscenes. Instead you just had to find the lore dump in a text file.

its a mess and I bet bayo 4 will just ignore it entirely.
Her summon pact was ending in 3 days? Wtf? Lol

The whole multiverse concept was completely wasted imo.

One of my biggest hopes for Episode 7 was seeing what the New Republic was like in the post Empire world. Surely the writers would move the world forward, and the be government would have learned something from the Clone Wars and Palpatine's rise to power.

But nope.

I mean that's literally how the bad guys were able to build the super hyperspace ring or whatever.

While I don't necessarily like the heavy handed story telling surrounding the New Republic and it's general ineptitude (this is elsewhere in the Didney canon, not just in Ahsoka), it is trying to lay the groundwork that there are power vacuums and bureaucratic inefficiencies that would allow an organization as large as the First Order to grow.

Combine that with the... Unwillingness of the New Republic to commit to a proper defense fleet and it's easier to see why the Sequels happened the way they did.

Though honestly I'd rather they just did a hard reset on that era but Didney would never.
Yup, nail on the head. SW writers who care about the universe need to justify why the New Republic would fail so utterly in the sequels, so they must be inept and corrupt at every turn, basically. I would be pretty annoyed with it if I didn't understand they need to build to the sequel trilogy.

Anyway, 1 > 2 > 3 imo, but I have only played 3 on Normal once (whereas I have gotten platinum on every chapter on all difficulties for 1 and 2).

3 may be better than I think it is, but I was not a huge fan of the demon control mechanics on a first go. But I thought the first game was bad the first time I beat it so...

They're fine, big difference is MGS2 and 3 run at 30fps instead of 60 for unknown reasons. But if you're going Switch, I'm sure you're fine with that.

Also the physical is just a license. You download all three games so the cartridge has almost nothing on it (total of 21GB of download I think). Which is about what I expected from Konami.

I highly doubt that. Game of Thrones, the show, already established his power to do more like when he created a prequel storyline about the Targs and people watched that. Finishing the series wouldn't mean he couldn't milk it anymore, it would just give him more opportunities to do even more with it.
I don't think he's saying George is not finishing the series to milk it. I think he's saying that George has no intention of finishing the book, but pretends he is to stay relevant.

Also the general movement toward / more consistent performance and SSDs has really reduced the appeal of PC gaming for me. In the 360 / PS3 days everything on console ran like crap and the difference in visuals was massive (imo at least), I got into PC gaming for the many advantages. The difference is less noticeable the days unless you have a very high end card, and the huge price spike of the pandemic for PC parts priced me out of upgrading my setup when I was most interested. The indie scene was also less available on consoles than it was today, and many great indie games were PC only. Nowadays, I quite happy with the options and performance consoles offer, and successful indie games will typically have a Switch version, which is my preferred platform for indie games due to portability. The biggest benefits of PC for me right now are Steam, mods, and general liberty in the play experience. But I am not sure I really have the time to take advantage of those benefits these days. Am I going to spend time researching a bunch of Star Field mods, or will I play one of the many high quality titles releasing all the time? After a day of work, almost certainly the one I can just play.

I will also be honest in saying that TotalBiscuit had a massive influence on my interest in PC. Since his death, I have not really had any content I've enjoyed with such strong PC advocacy. I may have lost touch with the major benefits. But consoles of today give me what I wanted out of PC 10 years ago.

What I would really like is a remake of Metal Gear 1 and 2. It's kind of hilarious that what I consider the pivot point of the whole series in terms of the overarching story are these MSX games. All the Big Boss games build up to them and all the Solid Snake games are the fallout afterwards.

My friend kept on complaining that Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka was wooden when the animated shows had Ahsoka with a lot of personality. I never watched Rebels or The Clone Wars shows, so I'm only going off what he said.

With that said, Andor is just a masterclass of a show. Shame no one watched it.
Ahsoka is a lot older now than in the Clone Wars. I would expect some change from her teenage self in TCW. She is probably in her early 40s and much more introspective and reserved with experience. I think Rosario Dawson does a fine job of it, personally. But I can understand not looking the direction for the character.

Because there's a difference between "Why didn't you complain" vs "I know my food sucked and I'm sorry for it". There is no mind reading here which is why it's best to clarify what they mean by what they say.
I see what happened here. The paragraph we are discussing, sentences in bold:

One time my girlfriend made me supper and it was burnt and horrible. I ate it and didn't say a word. She knew it was crappy and didn't need anyone to pile on. She asked why I didn't complain afterwords and I told her words do damage and she did something nice for me by cooking me dinner. Sometimes you don't know how a persons day went and negative words can have horrible consequences in a relationship. She will love you all the more if you work through it without complaining.

From the two sentences there, it is difficult for me to not to infer that there was a bigger conversation about the dinner (presumably she told him she knew it was crappy, otherwise how would the narrator know?). The question about companion was a set up to the moral of his story. I did not read that as his girlfriend's only takeaway - further communication is implied but its explicit detail was not needed to get the main point across.

Edit: I can respect if you're a zero assumption / very literal reader for online discussions. I just found our different takeaways from the same text interesting.

It was the very definition of mid, imo. Acting and dialogue were wooden as hell, aka exactly what you'd expect from a live-action sequel to a mid-10's cgi cartoon. But it had it's moments, and those moments lent a certain 'epic' quality that's been strangely lacking from SW lately.
A pretty fair assessment imo. It may be fair to say I personally didn't think the show was great, but was still invested thanks to my investment in the Rebels cast (although Hera's and especially Sabine's performances missed the mark for me big time). So take my opinion with that context, other posters.

Also not sure when Ahsoka's primary form of communication became constant knowing smiles.

Tbh Rebels is better than the other live action shows except Andor, which is the best show / movie in the whole franchise anyway. Ahsoka was alright, but almost entirely geared toward people already familiar with the main characters from Rebels and, to a lesser extent, TCW.
