The difference is that if everyone stopped tipping and restaurants all rasied prices, I fully believe that they would add some extra on there for themselves. I kept it up long enough that my eating habits have changed. I no long actively think about how much I am eating and feel full with less food.
The only thing that I pay attention to is making sure I stop when I feel full, even if there is something amazing left on the plate. I will put it away and save it for later. They don't offer vacation where I work so I just use my sick hours to cover it. That shit is made out of thin scraps that are left over after the good leather has been stripped fro it. That's why genuine leather belts fall apart so quickly.
