omg game has crashed on me like 5 diff times. i notice fps drops to low 100s from 120 before this happens. is this game supposed to be capped at 60 fps? says it is in pcwiki but steam fps counter was showing 120 fps for me this entire time lol? i guess ill lower my refresh rate

ok tbh this is the first game i've played in this auto shooter genre.

i never actually played vampire survivors tbh lol. i should have mentioned that earlier but forgot.

anyway im enjoying brotato a lot yeah. i'll probably try to beat all the characters on d5. still have a bunch of them left. probably will take about 2 months since the past 11 days I'm averaging 3.5 hours a day of playtime. and with 38.7 hours playtime that means each character is taking me 4.7 hours average to complete a d5 run (8 done so far).

that means I could potentially be playing this game for 200+ hours so about 2 months damn. i guess its possible for me to do that. i did that with a few other games in the past.

oh god this was the most panic inducing run so far. only managed to kill 1 of the wave 20 bosses. the other one had like a tiny sliver of health left >.<

just needed more damage. if only i had gotten explosive shells and couple of c4 and dynamites

i died a bunch of times prior. attempted multiple times with ghost axe, lightning shiv, spear, and shotgun. earliest id die was wave 9 and this is if i had less than 10% speed. max id die was like wave 14 or 15 the one with the chef hat boss

i ended up just using shredder and then picking up the rpg later on.

gonna do multitasker with sticks now hehe

wow the lightning shiv is powerful. i did not expect this.

i finally beat wave 20 d5 w/ artificer. i tried so many times lol
managed to kill the two final bosses but barely (had like 10-20 seconds left). if only i had more nuke launchers that thing is powerful.

there were a few bosses in earlier waves that i couldnt kill. just ran away from them. didnt have enough damage at the time :(

did a run with the speedster character. damn 115% speed is way too fast lol could barely comprehend what's going on in the screen sometimes. pretty much only survived because the spear things were doing around 200-300 damage each hit so was able to quickly kill the fodder for health. managed to kill the two bosses in the end but took longer than the masochist run since i couldn't stay by their side as often :(. Had to keep running back n forth across the map

You can beat the game easily with masochist with just about any melee weapon as long you stack HP/Regen/Armor. Avoid dodge, in fact He's a great character to pick that one toxic potion item that gives you like eight health but it gives negative dodge.

In fact that's another tip that's not completely obvious at first. When a character has no need for a certain stat (ex: masochist wants to be hit so dodge is useless to him), or they have -100 stat modification, it's a perfect time to grab items with negative stat bonuses I'm that category.

thanks for the tip. i eventually beat masochist using a different set-up. i tried scissors one more time. died in wave 19 again lol. so I switched to 4 ghost axe and 2 sceptre set-up.

Dude i had no idea that the stats you gain from using these 6 weapons were permanent!! thought they were just temp boost for each wave. So i was able to gain a bunch of health and damage % with each wave. by the end i was doing good enough damage to kill the two bosses before the timer ran down. believe i had 40 seconds left.

i did ignore dodge but the weapons decreased armour and added on dodge which was sorta nice i guess. altho i see your point about dodge being pretty worthless overall. with scissors i did have dodge down to the negatives and i only really died because i just lacked the damage output to clear out the mobs before they reached me.

Yeah I adapted the stutter step with soldier. But it's still kind of requires that you invest a decent amount of speed into him which seems a little counterproductive for the character.

Picked up the game tonight and did a bunch of runs.

I did a really unique build with one armed , I mean most are with him. But I picked up the claw weapon which scales off a tax speed and since he starts with 200 attack speed at scales really well for an early weapon.

I went crazy with elemental damage, melee damage and even tons of turrets. I transitioned into a thunder blade and it was so powerful with the stats I had built up. I was cocky and was about to beat a D3 run when I let myself get killed in the final wave. .

Now I've been trying to force an SMG build. My thought process was that he scales really well with critical, so you could get max crit chance easier than other characters. Problem is he doesn't start with any guns. So I just have to throw away whatever starter I got and roll until I get something. So it's a really rough start.

Especially since I don't know if you guys know, up to round 3 you have a guaranteed chance for 2 weapons in the shop and they have a higher chance of being similar to what you're holding. Up to round 5, You're guaranteed 1 weapon every time you roll in the shop.

Been trying to beat d5 with masochist. I'm using scissors since they have 40% lifesteal and can get them to doing 100 damage with criticals after some time spent getting hit.

Got up to wave 19 before dying. I think I need to actually increase my damage % some more. I notice ppl get it close to 0% (from -100%). It does take about half the wave for me to build up enough power to start killing the elites quickly. if I had more damage % I wouldn't have to wait so long and would be less risky.

i felt very OP in this run with loud tbh. this is the first time i've gotten a red weapon too. bosses all died sorta quick. am still a bit surprised how long the final wave bosses can last tho. the smgs were hitting up to 80+ damage or so. idr too well now

Like you said the bosses over run you.

yeah i was mainly stutter-stepping throughout the waves but for bosses id have to full on run for like a sec or two at a time there is no way to avoid them otherwise :(.

i finish with soldier. i kept dying to the bosses because i was too slow and they'd put there bodies on me so i just upped speed to 50% lol i think 30% would be enough tho. i almost died to the two bosses but i recovered and killed them

I'm trying out soldier now. I read you get nuke launcher for beating a run with them. And then have to finish a run with Loud for rip n tear.

looked up a video and it seems like im playing the character all wrong. my stat allocation are no where close to theirs -_-

I mean it does but at the same time I've had my friend backseat game with me and piss him off so much because I ignore the luck stat a lot of the time and get crazy good items. I started doing it because I watched a bunch of indie YouTubers Play the game who sings to ignore it as well. I'll usually only take a lot of luck if I'm doing a luck build or if items scale damage off luck because that's more money to dump into rerolls or different items.

Ok I've been ignoring luck. I'm on d3 now. I will play some more

I like the Bull character since I dont have to worry about buying weapons

I played for like an extra 30-60 mins after my post last night/morning. I only made it up to wave 15 or so on normal mode. I'll try again later today

Yeah I was just sad. My 1st run I had a bunch of purple tier weapons. Next couple were barren. But I now know that luck stat affects it.

i just have trouble focusing on uninteresting tasks unless i feel high anxiety/stress. the stress and anxiety puts me in a hyperfocus state.

so im pretty decent at accomplishing tasks with a due date. i just wait till like the day before to start. this is when my anxiety/stress is at its highest and I can finally focus =]

I recall Link vs Cloud being full of this (both fights). Examples such as Link dodging a laser beam meaning he has faster than light reaction when I think we all know that's just bologna. Speed seems to be the worst thing in discussion as people will always find something that makes a character end up being faster-than-light despite struggling constantly to find average humans that disappear within a few seconds when faster-than-light should mean you could run all over the place and find said character instantly.

Durability and strength end up pretty bad too for reasons I mentioned in OP.

yeah i've seen this wank for Geralt of Rivia. He dodged lightning this one time and people believe he is a lightning timer now despite uhh a bunch of feats that show he is probably below the speed of sound.

Also the fact that these supposed lightning+ speed characters only fight within a small local area not even bigger than a football field has me think they aren't that fast. OnePunchMAN possible season 4 Spoilers: I think a good example of characters that are truly as fast or faster than light would be the: Garou vs Saitama fight on the moon. Saitama was legit traveling around the entire moon dozens of time throughout the damn fight while the moon was exploding!!! i dont see this with street level characters that are supposedly lightning timers or higher

oh a funny one ive seen. so in one of the dmc novels there is a description of Urizen causing the earth to shake (i believe this was machine translated just based on how it looked lol).

so to me this means he caused a local earthquake. Earth probably means the ground right?

some people believe it means he shook the entire planet. so now urizen is a continental+ tier character minimum despite not really having feats for that. i still think he is like city level max.

there is so much wanking because its common for lower tier characters to fight against higher tier characters and either win or not die. so then powerscalers scale that lower tier character up to the ballpark of the higher tier character even if its an outlier or the author just wants to have fun

or there is some vague feats that let people go ham since what is there to stop them? dragonball super is full of them (like goku bypassing Hits weak time stop power = him being above time and space or some shit).

or misinterpreting/mistranslating japanese light novel feats (like metaphorical descriptions such as "super dimensional character" being taken seriously and now that character who has only street level feats is above 3 dimensional).
