How is Chevreuse as a healer? I was led to believe relying on her heals is a little tough.

Would never have associated that hint with Outer Wilds. I know what you're referencing, in hindsight, but it fits Behind Your Eyes so much better...even if that would be absolutely shocking to be in the top 10.

Honestly, it was a guess for me. I spent a fair bit of time looking up boss fights in the rain, and final bosses you fight three times in FromSoft games, and finally just threw a stab at that one because of how much you raved about DMC earlier in the thread.

I had no idea what that could have been referencing. I was just trying to find something that had 5 different game modes, and maybe a sixth that didn't make it to the live version of the game.

And yay, I got #5. For once, the dice rolled in my favor here. So, uh, 2/6 so far. (If my attempt at being clever on this trio actually pans out, though, I will be shocked.)

When Inazuma was new, and we didn't have much of a look at either yet, I had trouble distinguishing Sara from Raiden. Obviously, seeing them in full and being exposed to them for a long time now, that sounds pretty laughable, but at the time they were just "tall, dark-haired lady who is/represents the Shogun."

I feel like that would be difficult to do, considering the most powerful force in the Genshin universe is the two buttons holding Clorinde's blouse shut.

I would presume we'll see one per patch. Out of the two I mentioned at least. Sigewinne and Chiori are probably 4-stars.

No interest in Arlecchino or Clorinde, either? (And nobody you're waiting to have rerun?)

There's no reason -- and maybe this is weird to suggest this, but -- that they couldn't just put a third character in the shop. Since it operates on a six-month rotation, you just add Gorou, Sara, Kuki, Sayu, Heizou, and one other. (Kirara, maybe, but she's newer, and there's probably a legacy character that could stand to be included.)

Same. More for Chevreuse since I've conceded that Sara is not good. I leveled her day 1 alongside Raiden, and then just could not find any meaningful way to use her. And thus, I never have. A clunky 4 second ATK buff is just not worth the trouble. So she's electro Ningguang -- a character who is supposed to do other things, but is just a mediocre quick swap burst option.

Small sample size.

Sara is absolutely tied to Raiden, and I can accept that they would do the same for Faruzan (or put her on a Xiao banner,) but to do that to Yaoyao is weird. Not that it matters much because you can get her for free during Lantern Rite.

Why would Yaoyao be on an Alhaitham banner specifically? She doesn't enable his gameplay the way Gorou does for Itto.

Mental note: actually submit.

I compiled guesses on my laptop, but I had two I wanted to look into more.

An Amber con and a low constellation of another character is quite nice.

I personally thought DE was overrated. Not bad by any means, but not as amazing as people made it out to be. Then again, my first experience with the game was making a character who had one point in mental strength, walked out of the Whirling-in-Rags, got into an argument with myself...and died from it.

I'll let you decide if that's awesome or awful.

Asking because she wasn't part of The Plan, but my understanding is that she's good as a split-time carry, which I'm gonna bet good money Mihoyo is going to start pushing as the next thing to break up the 1 on-fielder + 3 supports (or 4 supports quickswap) meta.

What's the good word on Navia at this point? Haven't heard much past the initial rash of guides on her release.

There was a point a month or two ago where I destroyed like 3000 crystals because I was on cap and had already leveled as much pointless junk as I could.

I knew immediately what 11 almost certainly was, and had to research 16, so...

Thought there might be some guesses for other MGS games, but no, you guys swept it.

I said MGS2. I also said Portal for 23, Gravity Rush for 29 and Psychonauts 2 for 30, so I'm fairly sure I wasn't counted. (I had the other 6 correct.)

This is shaping up to be the first Fontaine patch I don't play through every last inch of before the next one comes out. (bump)

This isn't my favourite PF album, but I understand why it would be someone else's favourite.

I had to play the "which Pink Floyd album would rwlh like best?" game, and landed on Dark Side. I considered Animals, The Wall, Wish You Were Here, Meddle, The Division Bell...basically all the ones I'm familiar with.

It really isn't.

The game is otherwise fun. Not that.

This should be the biggest advertisement of the game. So few metroidlike game have the guts to do this and handhold you everywhere instead. It's why Yoku is easily in the top echelon.

Normally, yes. But given that all the paths in Yoku's twist and wind in ways that don't always make sense, it just ends up being frustrating for no reason. Especially when you're backtracking and have to navigate through a whole bunch of nonsense just to get from A to B.

It's cute, but I also ultimately found it frustrating to navigate. There was a period where I was like "oh, this is fun. The idea of playing pinball tables everywhere is kinda awesome." And then I got tired of it and just wanted to be able to walk/jump where I was going instead of remembering the exact trails I needed to go somewhere and execute the timing needed to make that happen. So many times I would see something and have absolutely no idea how to reach it. Also, I'm aware everyone dubs it a "pinballvania," but calling it a metroidvania is extremely dubious given how little you actually get in the way of upgrades.

I played most of Cassete Beasts then just got tired of it. I was enjoyed it, but I didn't feel like playing it all.

TBF, this was my reaction, but I chalked that up to not really appreciating the pokemon formula. The overworld stuff, when it wasn't deliberately frustrating, was really good. Though I guess if you want just that half of it and could swap out Pokemon battles for regular JRPG battles, you should give Crystal Project a look.

I haven't played a Pokemon game since 1999.

I played and enjoyed Cassette Beasts. Not as much as someone who likes Pokemon, but the more 2-D Zelda-esque parts of the game were good. There were a few things that frustrated me, but that was mostly on me and not the game.

I didn't think I was going to have much to recommend, but since you own it already, you should play Lenna's Inception. It's basically Link to the Past by way of Undertale and it is so good.

Wow, somebody actually beat me to recommending Lenna's. =p

As soon as I saw the itch.io bundle, I was gonna be like "well have you played..."

Also in that bundle is OneShot, although I had an issue at one point with the itch version and had to stop. (A problem unique to OneShot because it forces you to look up something in the game files.)

I mentioned Renowned Explorers a few posts back. It's a game that defies concise explanation, but I'll give it a shot.

Imagine it's the 19th century, and you're attempting to join a most distinguished club of gentleman (and ladies) by embarking on tremendous acts of exploration with a crew of three eccentric individuals (from a cast of thirty.) You begin with a small foray into Wales to look for a Celtic menhir, hoping to discover research, treasure, and just all-around awesome adventures. On your first move, you find a new species of bug to study. On your second, one of your characters falls in the mud and the other decides to study that. Then you get assaulted by an angry druid and his wolf minions. Your supplies are running low by the time you bump into a reporter who agrees to join your entourage. But in the end, you find the menhir, only to have The Society's top team (led by one smug Frenchman) show up moments later, distract you, and somehow abscond with the entire thing.

And in that moment, you vow that by year's end, you're going to wipe the grin off that Frenchie and win The Society's most prestigious honor -- explorer of the year. You've got time to plan out four more expeditions, each more dangerous, lucrative, and ridiculous than the last, culminating in exploring Shangri-La, hunting for the Holy Grail, or unearthing the secrets of an ancient Pacific island before it disappears.

Disco Elysium and Edith Finch make sense. DE is tremendously overrated, but EF is great.

I have never played an Octodad game and likely never will, but I knew one of these top games was gonna come out of left field.

My personal favorite that only I have played is Renowned Explorers: International Society, so let's throw that out there. (I'm still banking on Crosscode.)

The only one of those I've played is OW, which I've already ragged on. I sometimes wonder if I'd enjoy Obra Dinn, and I always conclude that the sort of puzzles involved would probably just annoy me. Still feel like I'm missing out, though.

I do have an HP Sands with Crit DMG, Crit Rate, ER and EM so that seems solid?

This sounds fantastic for anyone who might want an HP sands. Literally can't lose here...or at least not in the way that rolling flat DEF 4 times is losing. Maybe you end up with 100 EM on a character not causing reactions, but there's always someone who could use it.

edit: In the end, 33 crit value with a lot of ER is great for a bunch of characters. Yelan would love such a piece, for instance (albeit in EoSF.)

The only set that does not give DEF is Husk. Never does, because that would actually be desirable.
