Worked at several restaurants and it's never been a thing. The restaurant gets put at risk of losing it's license if word gets out that stuff like that is going down so the people making the real money out of it kinda stress that your ass is gone if you get caught.

The necessity of this is kinda sad. They left out that if you fight back and do successfully subdue the shooter you are at risk of being shot by the responding officers
