Eh. There's what should be, and there's what is. A handful of issues dominate all political thought, so any more pressing problem not explicitly highlighted by the Republican or Democrat platforms will be ignored.

Easily, apparently. 3070 Ti, 5800x, plenty of ram and storage.

Unfortunately my PC can't handle Phantom Liberty recommended settings, so some decisions have to be made..

Think I'm going with Brand New - Limousine. That was the first time I really noticed how much I liked songs that build up and transform dramatically over the course of the track, and I was obsessed with it for a while. Think I remember dropping everything I was doing to just relisten to it that first time, looking up what the lyrics were about.

Doesn't have the effect it had on teenage me anymore, so I don't really play it much these days, but I still like it.

That's a tough one. Everything that comes to mind I still really enjoy relistening to...so I'd have to pick something that was magical the first time I heard it that I don't care for quite as much anymore. Hmm.

So you're not an alt, you just decide to spend all your time on the site you say you never visit lurking a topic that's about neither of the things you say you came here specifically to troll people about.

Wow you must think we're all the biggest idiots in the world lmao

A topic asking about people that didn't have far left personalities seemed like a perfect opportunity to see whether or not I'd see a long list of familiar trolls from the now defunct 261. The thread on affirmative action already delivers what I came to see without additional input on my part.

I don't disagree with everything you said there though.

"I'm not an alt, I just completely randomly decided to log in after months/years away from the site and spend my day exclusively shitposting about having my opinions repressed in a single topic where somebody just got suspended, as is my wont. I'm NOT an alt, though."

I posted in here before TC was suspended, and I came back here after months/years away due to the affirmative action ruling. It was such a dramatically massive thing, alongside the student loan ruling, that I wanted to see how much crying might be going on on 261.

But, supposing you find it implausible that a user would revisit a board in response to a massive news story like this, I'll tell you the same thing I would have when I posted semi regularly on this site: assume that I am TC's alt if you want. I don't care, as we're all a bunch of anonymous users anyway. You could be TC for all I know. You can also block me if you want - I won't be around to notice soon, and my experience might be slightly more pleasant in the interim.

All these concerns about post count do nothing but amuse me. My high average post count was maybe 45 posts when I visited this site daily.

ChatGPT is trained on data from 2021 and doesn't receive updates.

The vast majority of the info I need from it isn't something that's changed much in 2 years. I'd say that I could just use it's web browsing plugin to have it give me more relevant results, but my experience with it's web browsing has been terrible. Just clicks the first 1 or 2 Bing results and says "fuck it here you go."

I suppose there's probably a prompt out there that would make it actually search the web in a useful way.

Thanks, I try to keep it low by not visiting this site at all most months. Imagine my surprise when I come back to see how the politics board is reacting to current events just to find it gone? I almost did a little dance, but I figured the users would just relocate and ruin another board.

Unless you share the same ideology as the board you may as well not post. Its not worth engaging with a side who wont listen and only wants you gone from the echo chamber.

Pretty much.

This guy was a Trump supporter on 261 who used to regularly get modded for his shit social conservative views

Nice to be remembered. How descriptive is the tag? Those were always amusing.

Also I wouldn't say "regularly", but certainly more than could actually be justified. In fact I've never been moderated, banned, or censored in general anywhere but here. Other than that one time where a site invented an entire new forum rule to address my long ongoing argument with someone...simply because it was long, mind you.

Heineken14 posted...
I like how you don't know what he was suspended for but you just ASSUME it was unjustified because you want it to fit your narrative.

It's based solely on past experience. I've seen firsthand how 261 mods would moderate people simply for holding an irritating - not even really problematic - opinion. Countless times. This case could be an exception, but as the site has a rule against discussing moderation in order to dodge the inconvenience of justification, I doubt I'll ever find out what happened. An assumption will have to do.

Yup, ChatGPT has gradually worsened over time.

How or why would it become worse? I've been using it to assist with certification studies. I double check it frequently and it hasn't been wrong so far as I've seen.

Granted, I'm using GPT-4, and I've used it enough to try and avoid lines of question that I think are likely to confuse it and cause it to start hallucinating.

As a redditisfun user, I kind of hated that this happened, but reading this thread is letting me view things in a new light...just getting rid of a ton of existing mods is a huge win.

Reddit mods are even worse (slightly) than gamefaqs mods. And reddit has been unavoidably useful, making their habits actually annoying.

Hopefully more reddit mods quit or get "fired" over this new API policy.

Figures.

The more you know. Now I can stop just noticing it early to actively expecting it to begin with.
