I want FF8 because i want their original idea for the game to become a reality. They wanted both Squall and Laguna to have fully playable stories but the disc space at the time just wasn't enough. I'd have loved to see Laguna's parts of the game a lot more fleshed out. Honestly they'd probably even be better than the main parts of the game if they did it right.

I'm slowly working my way through chapter 3 still. It's up there as one of the better games so far.

Elliot shouldn't even be here still. He didn't even wanna fight to begin with and now he's got his music he should've been left out. Plus he always has the worst master quartz by default.

Don't really know anything about the Steam Deck but this is would be the first time. Nintendo have been doing it for years.

That sounds like something Nintendo would do. They always get away with skimping on parts because people will always buy the system anyway.

They've knocked these down to 400. Guessing they wanna get rid of stock before the slim is announced.

It still feels like it's been out for 2 years tops. This gen really hasn't got going at all yet.

Been having a bit of trouble trying to beat Garcia and Cau in 40 turns in act 2. Probably my own fault for not really preparing properly beforehand but it's still annoying when they give you a few fights back to back and then throw in a requirement for the latter.

I've just started exploring the corridor. I can already tell this is gonna be a headache trying to give everyone the right MQ and quartz. Hopefully i can just pick my favourite team, kit them out and ignore everyone else.

The thumbs up thing pops up near the top right at the end of a ranked set for me. I've never actually given one but i think you press triangle.

I'd pick either Sky 1+2 or Crossbell 1+2 and then Cold Steel 1+2. At least then you get to experience both style.

I haven't played much yet. Enjoyed the opening act but the walking around the city bit at the start is a bit frustrating. I get that they're trying to fill you in on events but having to tour a city i've already done to death in 2 full games prior and seen again in the 2 games directly before this has kinda burned me out a bit. Liberl got 2 games and that was perfect and Cold Steel was clever enough to split the empire into 2 halves with 2 games each. To me Crossbell has been overdone a bit.

I might be completely wrong on this but adults who originally met as adults usually have a better time getting along with each other years later. But like you say, when you have a friend when you're younger and still developing, you tend to become a completely different person later down the line and that can lead to some pretty awkwards reunions.

You need to recognise early that it's just not your day and quit. If you keep playing you just get titled and lose loads of points. I'm up to Plat 4 with Gief now.

I worded that poorly. They should just have one set in stone and not have any romance stuff whatsoever with anyone else.

This. I couldn't care less about the pick a girl thing just have a canon girl or don't do it at all.

Since i got into the series i've always felt Sky fans are like that tuxedo Winnie the Pooh meme. Their arc is best and Cold Steel is just anime trash.Thankfully this site is chill about it all though.

I reckon trying to play this series back to back would be like trying to play something like Yakuza in one go. You'd get burnt out real fast.

Actually yeah you're right. If you don't know any better it's ok to just play the CS games. I played the first 2 without even realising there were games before it and all the references just went completely over my head.

Yeah you could just start with the Cold Steel games and go forward if the older style isn't your thing. But you will have a lot of wtf are they talking about moments from CS3 onwards.

For me personally starting with Cold Steel probably made me not really care much for the Sky trilogy at all. I liked Crossbell a bit more but it was still a bit of a slog.

Was hoping my copy would arrive today but nothing. Looks like the PS4 version is sold out everywhere here as well.

I still think they'll drop him the day after Evo or something. Wouldn't make sense to not have a trailer planned for the end of Evo.

PS5 shouldn't even be in the conversation.

Weird that you want to stick with 9 entries in what is unquestionably a smaller pool of entrants. It's more like the Titled Two -- SNES and PS2.

Yeah no point doing 9 for this.

The N64 and Gamecube are pretty crap but would do well here because Nintendofaqs.

I only really struggled a bit in the first 2 games. First one was my first Trails game so i didn't really know what to do and the second had some pretty challenging bosses.

The game is that easy even if you give characters the worst MQ you'll probably still destroy everything.

CS 3+4 and the 2 Crossbell games on PS4 give you items. If you get it on PS5 you get all the stuff without having to own the games though.

The 3 year wait is nearly over. This is the first Trails game i get on release that's not a Cold Steel game.

Seeding a draw like this must be absolute hell. Even if you seed all the people you know are good that still leaves a lot of pools with the potential to have some random rookies all bunched together and a lot of good players playing each other very early on.

Disc based will always be superior at least here in the UK. They're cheaper and you usually get them a day or two earlier than release day. Online only basicaly puts you at the mercy of the console makers digital store meaning you're forced to overpay for stuff until years down the line when it actually gets a decent sale price.

Buying a console for one game is already pretty stupid. But buying one for a game that will be ported in a year is even dumber. I actually expected next gen to have picked up by now but FF16 is pretty much the start by the looks of things.

If they'd have included a disc drive it'd have been an amazing deal.

I've been wondering what Nintendo's plans are for Mario Kart, if the team's working on MK8 DLC up til the end of this year.

I always thought it was crazy they did this much DLC and so late into the lifecycle of the Switch. Mario Kart is a bit like Smash though where do they go from here.

They always release underpowered consoles because people will buy them anyway. Why bump up the price of a console when you can sell outdated hardware at a premium and still undercut the competition.

If it's fully backwards compatible i might get one. Never ended up buying a Switch and there are a few games on it i wouldn't mind playing.

If they'd have made it a release game it'd have sold a lot more. Sure you don't have the install base but when you usually only have like 2 launch games that are worth getting it'd have defo pushed sales up.

Gonna be honest i'm surprised they pushed out that Zelda game before a new system.

There's no way they'll milk the Switch out for another year after this.

Weren't people saying a new Judgement was meant to be coming? Didn't really look into it much though so was probably just a rumour.
