Part of my problem with the current slate is we don't know why some of these characters are even here.

For phase 1, we needed Hawkeye, Widow, Thor, Cap, Iron Man, Hulk, and so on. For phase 2 we needed the Guardians Wanda, and Ant-Man. For phase 3 we needed Spider-Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Captain Marvel.

We still don't know why we needed Shang Chi, the Eternals (probably exposition dump, which is fine), a new Black Widow, the Young Avengers, Iron Heart, New Black Panther, She-Hulk, Agatha, Echo, Daredevil, Moon Knight, Blade, Deadpool, or even the Marvels. What purpose will they be necessary for? We won't know until things wrap up, but for now, we're halfway through phase 5 already, heading towards phase 6 and a lot of these questions haven't been answered or even teased yet. You can point to why many of those characters were important to the plots of the MCU as a whole, but all these new phase 4 and on characters, I'm truly unsure what their goal is here. Are they just making films to make films, or is there a bigger picture here. If there's not a bigger picture, then why?

Because Miles had never replaced Peter. He's always played second fiddle and most of the time writers don't even know what to do with him. He's barely got any enemies of his own and doesn't headline much of anything. He's there for anyone that likes him but can easily be ignored. He's not really established as much of anything.

How in the world did bloober team get this? Seems like one of those "Japan doesn't understand western audiences" moments.

I could have enjoyed the minimalist style if it at least went somewhere but there was no big reveal at the end or any kind of progression. It was just light and sound.

Kang wasnt killed by the ants. He came back and beat the shit outta Scott. Also those werent regular ants, those were giant intelligent future ants.

Another thing is Kang likely isnt dead. He was shrunk into his multiverse engine like Scott did earlier in the movie.

The whole finale is him being a classic big bad that thinks he's undefeatable and gets taken out by someone he underestimated (along with millions of scifi ants). He literally didn't Look Out For The Little Guy. He's gonna come back with a vengeance alongside whatever the other Kang's are cooking up and shit's gonna get weird.

Kang has never been a physical threat before. His plan is usually to travel back in time to before the heroes existed and beat them before they fight. He's not just gonna punch Thor a bunch like Thanos. And if Secret Wars is pulling from the modern version it's going to get very fucking weird.

Thanos proved he was a threat and Kang still needs to demonstrate why he should be taken seriously outside of having a bunch of his alternates laugh in the air while hanging out in a coliseum.

Thanos proved he can hire powerful henchmen. If Thanos wasn't as badass as he was in IW people would just be complaining that he sat in a chair for 10 years and then died...twice. It's all hindsight.

People have serious selective memory when it comes to the first three phase. Thanos had literally one actual scene in the entirety of the franchise leading up to Infinity War and a few name drops in GotG. Most of the stones were just macguffins until they were tied back in. There was no build up whatsoever of his threat beyond the occasional vague "something big is coming" lines. We already know more of who Kang is and what's coming from him from his two appearances than we did about Thanos before Infinity War.

Will there be food? I could easily hang out by the chips and salsa for a while, then leave.

AVP is an absolute blast. Resurrection is ok but it's just a generic action adventure movie with Aliens thrown in. It's literally just the Poseidon Adventure. Alien 3 is overall pretty boring but the finale running around the tunnels is pretty tense. Still haven't seen the assembly cut though.

Seems like they're taking the resounding "meh" and "huh?" reactions to the shows announcement to heart. Looks pretty solid and they're testing the MA waters for shows in the future. Hopefully it does well so they can't blame its failure on the rating and not make more MA stuff in the future. Seems weird to use a no one character that people actively balk at for that though rather than Daredevil or Punisher, but we'll see.

Yeah, we need more movies like The Brain that Wouldn't Die and Frankenhooker; art.

I've been watching a ton of movies all month but today I watched Rec 3 and went to a double feature of Halloween and Messiah of Evil. Messiah war over of the most nonsensical, weird ass movies I've ever seen. It felt Italian.

It was a visually fantastic movie with great set pieces and attention to detail but the characters are basically nonexistent and the plot jumps around a lot. These are issues I had with the original book too though so I guess it still gets an A as an adaptation.

I cannot stand kb/m so I sit in my recliner with a controller for the vast majority of games.

I always liked T2 more until rewatching them recently. T2 has a few slow bits that really drag on, and a lot of the humor as well as the whole relationship between John and Arnie is really hokey. It's still got some of the greatest action of all time but outside of those scenes it's got some small issues. The first one is nearly flawless.

Strip it down from 8. Less action, more horror. Smaller scale. More open area with back tracking and puzzles and not just linear levels. No weird currencies and shop mechanic. You pick your shit up off the ground like a real protagonist. Just a straight forward resident evil game.

Netflix used to be great but they fell off when they started focusing on licensing bargain bin crap so they could slap the N on it to look like they made more stuff.

How does everyone feel about Romero's of the Dead series? The first two are classic, but a lot of people are iffy on Day and Land.

The original trilogy are all pretty solid but I can see people even being put off by them. All the stuff he made in the 2000's was utter crap.

Obviously the reasoning behind it is mental illness but the continued cyclical nature of the issue is due entirely to the media creating heroes out of these people and continuing to tell frustrated, mentally ill people exactly how they can get their "message" across and how to take out their feelings. The news is writing the playbook on mass shootings in order to make a buck off of popular stories. But no one even wants to pretend like that's an issue.

I want more games with that engine/gameplay. Doesnt even have to be Batman, just taking out multiple baddies using gadgets and stealth, but then using that freeflow combat when you have to.

If you haven't played the Shadow of Mordor games, they're basically that with parkour.
