Greatest horror movie ever. The sad about the prequel is that alone, it is a very good movie, but since it is a prequel to The Thing, it had insanely high standards to meet and just didnt reach it. Totally agree. Regarding the prequel, IIRC they were using practical effects for everything (like in the original) and the producers came in, scrapped everything and jammed it full of CGI which IMO ruined it.
