As someone who grew up in the northeast, lived in Chicago, and now lives in California (bay area, used to live in San Diego), yeah, I'll take NY or Chicago tavern or deep dish over just about any California place.

Luckily Berkeley has some great pizza places, although one is a Chicago style place from former Chicagoans lol.

If you're in California it's fine, since California generally sucks at pizza anyway.

I haven't played it yet obviously, but "safe" is not the word I'd use to describe it based on previews.
