Not huge into opera, but like some of it. La Donna Mobile is about that? Feel weird singing/humming it now. It's a favorite.

It's not a literal translation, but the overall gist is the same.

The Queen of the Night aria, for example, is about the mother demanding her daughter kill Sarastro or else be disowned. That said, the Queen isn't laughing about it, she's just getting extremely worked up about it. The lyrics actually translate to:

Hell's vengeance boils in my heart,
Death and despair blaze about me!
If Sarastro doesn't feel the pain of death through you,
Then you will not be my daughter anymore:

Disowned be you forever,
Abandoned be you forever,
Destroyed be forever
All the bonds of nature.

If not through you Sarastro will turn pale!
Hear, gods of revenge, hear the mother's oath!

Their take on La Donna Mobile is more of the take for the entire opera (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rigoletto#Synopsis) and not the aira (which is this):

Woman is flighty.
Like a feather in the wind,
she changes in voice
and in thought.

Always a lovely,
pretty face,
in tears or in laughter,
it is untrue.

Refrain
Woman is fickle.
Like a feather in the wind,
she changes her words
and her thoughts!

Always miserable
is he who trusts her,
he who confides in her
his unwary heart!

Yet one never feels
fully happy
who from that bosom
does not drink love!

Refrain
Woman is fickle.
Like a feather in the wind,
she changes her words,
and her thoughts!

The Tsingtao Brewery is now facing a brouhaha.

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/tsingtao-brewery-urinating-man_n_6536b17fe4b0c855610221a9

The China-based Tsingtao Brewery is facing a brouhaha thanks to a now-viral video that reportedly shows a worker at one of the companys factories peeing into a tank.

The video, which was posted Thursday on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, shows a man in a workers uniform urinating in the tank, according to the BBC.

Tsingtao has not confirmed whether the culprit worked at the factory.

A Chinese language business publication quoted by the BBC claims neither the person who urinated in the tank nor the person who took the video were direct employees of Tsingtao.

Tsingtao released a statement saying that the batch of malt in the tank had been sealed off from use and that the urination had been reported at the first opportunity, according to CNBC.

The company places high importance on the media reports and has reported the matter to the public security authorities at the first opportunity. The public security authorities are presently involved in the investigation, according to the statement.

Of course, there were jokes on social media, with one person commenting, Ive always said the beer here is like horse pee. Turns out I was wrong, and another quipping, Thanks, I think Ill have wine instead, per the South China Morning Post.

The incident may have been great fodder for cheap laughs, but not for beer sales.

Tsingtao Brewery shares fell sharply on Monday when the Shanghai Stock Exchange opened, but recovered by the afternoon, CNBC reported.

Back in the early 90s, I found a backdoor IP address and port number to a computer in the Kremlin.

Then FTP downloaded copies of all the files in it.

It was all in Russian, obviously, which I couldn't read. So I ended up deleting it all.

---

I also played the Renegade Outpost DikuMUD.

Ended up creating the Cthulhu zone for the game. The badass weapon from that zone was a tentacle of Cthulhu. Which did metric asstons of damage, but cast Acid Spray on the enemy, ensuring all the loot would turn into slag... unusable for anyone.

But you could be sure to kill whatever you attacked.

And, of course, everyone should do everything possible to make sure HAMAS doesn't get hurt if anyone does try to stop them (which, of course, is evil and genocidal, right?). That anyone who does try and stop them should always endanger their own lives, not HAMAS's.

All the while having the world kick and spit on them for being evil, genocidal maniacs.

But hey, HAMAS is horrible, right? But we shouldn't actually *DO* anything to stop them. 'Cause, you know, human shields.

My mistake for not clarifying, I was being rhetorical.

There is 0% evidence God wrote, helped, aided, or did anything at all in the Book of Contradictions we call the Bible. Doesn't matter whatever you're talking about whether it's NT, OT, the Tanakh, Dead Sea Scrolls, the book of Shadows, a magical tome, whatever.

Like I said last post, the Book of Contradictions claiming God wrote any of it is about as credible as some person finding some ancient scroll in the mountains claiming The Flying Spaghetti Monster God wrote it and he is our true god. Same to getting a following to agreeing and believing this for years.

That is the entire problem with this discussion. It just demands you have faith with 0 proof. It demands everyone take seriously whatever faith one has in religious text of some god they believe in.

Religious text saying something is real is not proof and neither is having a following that believes in it. Especially when considering the time period much of this text was written, primitive humans attested fairy tale stories for many of the things they couldn't understand like the weather, disease, or where the sun went at night.

Ah, okay.

And you're right on this. I just really hate how Christians, despite objectively having the least coherent, least complete, and least justifiable religion... have the gall to push it on everyone they see.

And it can't even exist without Judaism. Yet Christianity denies it and claims it false, having superceded it.

Hello, Christians... you can't supercede something if it's the basis of your religion's existence!

No, it's not.

1 eight-ounce cup of filter coffee has roughly 100 mg (can be as high as 165 mg) of caffeine.

1 one-ounce shot of espresso has between 60-100 mg of caffeine.

So yes, it is.

---

The issue is that you get all 100mg of caffeine... all hitting you at once.

Whereas with filter coffee, you sip an ounce and get 12mg of caffeine. It wakes you up a little and then you drink another ounce. So you now have 24mg of caffeine in your system. And so on and so forth.

So you feel the effects slowly with filter coffee, unlike the "punch to the face" of caffeine found in an espresso.

What facts do you have the God wrote any part of the Bible at all. More specifically, proof.

As the Book of Contradictions claiming God wrote any of it is about as credible to me finding some ancient scroll in the mountains claiming The Flyong Spaghetti Monster God wrote it and he is our true god. Same to getting a following to agreeing and believing this.

Now you want more than the claims made in the book? Now it's empirical evidence?

While that can be given for Christianity (see #129), too much time has passed for the Tanakh. About the only thing that can be proven is that the texts are the same as those found in the Dead Sea Scrolls. So roughly 2,000 years without change.

Until we can find the Ark of the Covenant, it's doubtful we'll ever really know.

The Christian "bible" itself states that it wasn't written by G-d.

I mean, "Luke" is the writings of Luke, not G-d. Unless you're saying Luke is G-d.

And to top it off, it was written at a time where we actually have historical records of the event. And Roman records make no mention of G-d appearing at the Council of Rome in 382 AD. (Or in the years leading up to it.)

---

You're laboring under the impression I'm simply expressing an opinion.

While I am expressing my opinion on the validity of Christianity, the rest of what I am providing is not opinion, but facts to justify my opinion.

So when I say the Tanakh claims that parts of it were written by G-d, that is not my belief. That is me telling you what the Tanakh claims. You can research it for veracity.

Further, when I say the Christian "bible" isn't, that's not my opinion. That's documented fact. The Council of Rome announced, in 382 AD, exactly what the Christian "bible" was. And Christian authorities had to do so, because Emperor Constantine had commissioned the production of 50 bibles in 331.

Which you can't provide unless you've actually determined what is supposed to be in a bible.

So the writers of the bible you use were Roman men between the years of 331-382 AD. That's the facts.

---

It's no different than L. Ron Hubbard and his Scientology or Joseph Smith and his Mormonism. (This is my opinion based on the *FACT* that Roman men wrote the Christian bible between 331-382AD.)

You originally wanted to know what in the Tanakh was written by G-d. For you had doubts about that assertion. I pointed them out.

And now you're acting as if that was never what I was supposed to answer in the first place?

As for where to draw the line, one text says "G-d wrote this."

And the other says, "A dude that once knew some dude called Jesus, who we (400 years later) think is the son of G-d, said that Jesus said, "Blah."

One claims to be direct, the other claims nothing more than to be a game of literary phone-tag.

One is a self-contained religious/moral compendium... the other can't survive without the first, but at the same time, claims that the first is wrong and has been superseded. The cognitive dissonance needed to follow Christianity is mind-blowing.
