Feels like every second day we wake up to the news that Sony or Microsoft has acquired a major publisher and today is one of those days. PlayStation has announced that it is buying Bungie for $3.6 billion dollars (US). Bungie is the original creator of Halo and owner of the Destiny IP.

You asked what offshoot studios it has and what successful IPs they've put out. I've delivered both of them and now you're just steadily making the goalpost higher. Handful of small titles? Are you forgetting the Halo and Destiny series? Bungie was worth nearly 4 billion. SE itself is only worth a billion more. I then point out mergers that have happened in the past that nobody batted an eye at despite them still falling under your logic of "not being good for people that don't own that system".

You're now changing the goalposts to studios with recent multi-platform games (because some of those other studios have also made games on other platforms before) which conveniently happens to be the personal arbitrary standard that suits your narrative and then brushing away the actual instances anyway with "they're smaller".
At this point, it's clearly just fanboy cope. The fact remains that Nintendo and PC are currently both positively impacted by this merger so it's only PS-only consumers/fanboys seething over it after their own system of choice have been doing numerous similar anti-consumer practices to the rest of the industry for ages.

Or are you claiming that Bungie was a major publisher and if so please tell me what development studios they had under their banner? What IPs did their numerous development studios put out? I'd say to get back to me when Sony or Nintendo start buying up the likes of Squenix, Sega, Ubisoft or EA but unfortunately it won't surprise me in the slightest now if that sort of nonsense starts happening now that Microsoft has purchased two major publishers. Paying for exclusives sucks but has been a part of the industry since before Sony even entered the console space. Major publishers though being bought up by a console maker? I honestly think they're farming outrage. As far as I know the only source that they're being censored for those reasons by Sony are they themselves saying they totally are for realises.

I know Sony gets censor happy with pedo shit and sexual assault shit and some people complain about that. Drugs and alcohol though? This is the first I've heard of it, plenty of games on Playstation feature drugs and alcohol.

Multiple devs have said Sony has required additional changes including for violence like Visage, DDLC, and Martha is Dead. People have posted about how bad Sony is with indies in this topic. You saying devs are just lying about this is basically "fake news" level of denial. Kind of bordering on Trumper/Muskrat logic here.

Xbox is earth because it's built like a tank, and at least then, was focused on the jock/bro gamers. The other's are harder to place. I would think Gamecube is Air because of the whimsical quality, but could also see water. PS2 could also be water because it's the most versatile element.

Activision isn't the first acquisition, not will it be the last. There are documents showing Microsoft considering purchasing literally dozens of companies.

The expected slippery slope. The documents actually prove the opposite since it shows that the other companies weren't willing to be sold to Microsoft with one of them even going to Sony instead. Activision was willing to be sold because of their unique circumstances after their scandal.

I grew out of my console wars phase a solid 25 years ago. I haven't followed any of this and I have no horse in the race. That said... The number of people cheering on a trillion dollar corporation as it buys up the entire gaming industry to put competition out of business, is alarming. Corporations aren't your friends. If/when Microsoft is the only game in town, you may regret it.

Only console war fanboys think activision is the entire gaming industry and that it'll put competition out of business.
