What are some you do like?

I called mine because I got a notification that "the bank rejected my payment." So I went to the bank and they said no payment ever came in. So I called the servicer, I was told to wait about 4 hours. It ended up being even longer than they said...and they weren't able to help me anyway. Told me to call the bank, even though I already went there. So I couldn't even do anything.

I tried paying a few days later and it worked the second time.

Arthas from Warcraft taking Frostmourne is really the only thing that comes to mind for me but I don't know if that really fits since the bad guys were basically jobbing because they wanted him to have it so he'd get corrupted.

If this is a disqualifier than my Sasuke example doesn't work either.

Based on what I'm googling, Mega Man's software copies the ability, so it doesn't count per OP.

I'm not super familiar with Mega Man, but doesn't he copy the Robot Masters' abilities? Those are just bosses and not the main villain. So even if it was taking them and not copying it still wouldn't count.

Does Sasuke count? Itachi was his "main antagonist," and he eventually took his eyes.

Here's my idea for how they could work more like the Champion abilities. Of course this would mean no avatars fighting with you.

Tulin: Press the jump button in midair (this would have to be reworked because you can't use it on the ground).
Yunobo: Perform a charged attack (like Urbosa's Fury)
Sidon: Use the shield button (like Daruk's Protection)
Riju: Pull out an arrow and hold the button down to increase the radius.
Mineru: Whistle to summon the mech. It despawns when you dismount it.
