most places are here are two lane. people dont use the left lane for passing, they just use it to go really really fast all the time. it makes ever needing to turn left really annoying because some dude will be wanting to go 90 in a 55 behind you half the time and they view the ten seconds you were in the left lane as a personal affront

He's right, though there's a lot more going on than that. It's more like when JRPGs started getting lamer, having cheaper budgets and losing what made them fun, they also started to ape more modern anime aesthetic and everyone ended up becoming kawaii teenagers for about a decade.

Has that really been true since the gamecube? When the wii came out I remember stories about it scratching discs if bumped, the wii u had a bunch of hardware failure issues, and the switch has issues with wi fi and its sticks breaking

So you are right, I haven't experimented with Beast mode much, but Brawler already seems like the default where I can wreck people with furniture.

brawler gives you a basic moveset with weapons that mostly focuses on single targets. beast gives you different movesets for every weapon that are geared around doing huge crowd control damage. for example, if you pick up a bike with the brawler your moveset will mostly be straight swings forward. if you do it with beast, kiryu will do big spins that cover a lot of area and do a lot of damage at the cost of the weapon breaking faster.

when you power it up more he gets moves where he can grab people and swing them around more or less like makeshift weapons, and toss people into each other for even more crowd control

anyway if you arent vibing with the sidequests or the characters you might as well stop. yakuza games rely heavily on you being interested in that stuff and if you're not you're just wasting time. those are things about the game the playerbase enjoys

remake is one of the best games ever, re2make is a flawed but all right game generally outclassed by the original, re4make is much better than re2make but still not as good as either original re4 or the first remake

now do it in places where cost of living does not largely subsume that

most of your post is just opinion stuff but this is actively just wrong. beast mode lets you tank hits and push through with super armor and reduced damage, gives you crazy destructive movesets for every weapon in the game that make taking out crowds easy, has a bunch of grapples that are really cool looking, and in general just makes crowd control really fun and entertaining. are you just not putting points into styles to increase their movesets? because it plays nothing like the normal brawler style

Star Ocean 1-3 are all very good games. 4 is mediocre, you totally got the exact same feel off of it that I did. 5 feels like it was made on a shoestring budget and I dropped it very fast, and I haven't played the newest one but I haven't heard great things about it

Ever since the invasion began, literally any dialogue about far right militias or the weird link between canadian ukrainians and a facist figure ends up getting you called either a russian troll or a nazi yourself somehow. Most likely what happened is that a lobbying group thought it would be good timing because if anyone called it out it would be treated as usual, but this ended up being too bold not to have a larger backlash
