Speaking of Fang, even after reading the wiki I still dont fully understand what a lawyering even is or why people had mass saves for the character booted.

I think this is the first year we've gotten through without a lawyering, so you've never seen one! Basically, in XX, someone made an early save for Lightning and it wasnt caught until after the end of the round. Since it was the big Year of XIII, we coalesced around the remaining characters, and Fang wound up being the last one standing. If not for that, I'm sure Lightning would've won that year (and we proved it the following year with Lightning's Revenge)

I actually said in the discord that, in retrospect, it was a lucky thing Fang won first! I don't think she'd ever have the strength for even a top ten run if Vanille won in XX instead.

Time for a Sazh run in XXVI!

I would've gone to Aeris in a hypothetical Locke/Aeris final. I haven't played VII yet (soon) but I would feel awful voting against her three times in a row, especially when I'm very meh on Locke

Roba - It took a while--until Eiko and Zidane died--but we finally got on the same page with like...four girls we wanted to push as hard as we could...and unfortunately, three of them got picked off before the top twenty. Still, we picked ourselves up, dusted ourselves off, and committed to pushing Vanille as hard as we possibly could, and this miracle happened as a result. Thank you for all your support this year.

It was a crazy and unexpected run! I honestly would've ranked Vanille one of the least likely to win out of the four girls I split my saves between (she's at least more likely than Quistis, but both Rikku and Dagger feel more naturally strong). I'm amazed and happy that Vanille somehow went all the way. It was good being on a team with you again!

I can't believe Vanille did it. I remember when I first started participating in these, ot seemed like Lightning would never win. Now Light, Fang, and Vanille have all won! Thank you to everyone who made this run possible.

Thanks for the info! It sounds like it should work then since I'll be sitting an appropriate distance away. I spent probably way too much time researching TVs this weekend, and the other conclusion I've reached is that I shouldn't get an OLED one because the white/black of the subtitles might eventually burn into the screen. Beyond that, it's just a matter of waiting for the right TV at the right price. Thanks again, everyone.
