I absolutely loved the first season and was singing its praises to anyone who'd listen. Season 2 wasn't quite as good but had some moments. I'm not sure I even made it half way through season 3.

Still loved the characters but the quality really dipped.

On top of this, they announced the English dub won't be releasing until a later date. With both these things in mind they're hardly giving much of a reason for people to rush out and buy at launch.

I love the franchise though so I'll pick it up anyway but it's definitely getting a bit of a side-eye from me.

My best bet is it's SEGA's own terminology (for no apparent reason) for AAA game because from recent memory I don't think they've made any of those in a really long time. Some fantastic titles under their belt like Yakuza and Persona but nothing that's matching the budgets of SE or Sony's AAA games.

Could also just be a fancy way of saying live service, in which case - good luck!

I've been loving it so far though I'm beginning to suspect putting all my points into Deduction may have been a big oops. That branch gives you exp boosts but I'm wondering if the game is providing enough extra to actually payback that many levels in the first place.

Long story short I went up against a boss and really regretted not having any Vitality or Armor upgrades. Eventually managed it but it wasn't pretty. If I was starting again I'd probably go full tank mode.

The main thing Peter has over Miles is the decades of history he has with all the preexisting characters. That will come with time for Miles, though.

I can also totally see why both of them being called Spider-Man might seem a bit goofy but in his own universe (where the character originated), Miles was Spider-Man. Calling him anything else would just be reductive to his character, even if it makes a bit less sense in these re-tellings where he never had sole possession of the mantle.

EDIT: Forgot to make a point. Anyway hopefully people will cool off on the hating once it sets in that Miles isn't going anywhere. Especially as over time he'll get more interesting history with the characters and with any luck get his own iconic story arcs.

I've loved all of their games since they went the (mostly) interactive movie route with Jurassic Park. No hyperbole, played them all since then and had a great time with all. But with their newest release of The Expanse, it's quite clear they are struggling - even for a Telltale game it was very short. And they really shot themselves in the foot by releasing it episodically despite it all being completed... Why would anyone not just wait the extra 4 weeks and buy it after? Games pretty much live and die on initial hype for sales.

I hope they manage to pull through and keep going.

I think there's a case to be made that a lot of popular sitcoms don't have a particularly lauded first season. Just off the top of my head, there's The Office, Parks and Rec and Always Sunny.

Getting cancelled in the first season would have been tragic for each of these shows which all retooled themselves beginning with their second seasons. It wouldn't shock me if streaming's cancellation happy aspect has killed a couple otherwise great shows before they really got started. Impossible to know without more than one season.

Scam may not be the correct word but I think the concern is more people trying to normalize the scenario and before you know it the average person has been conditioned to believe a tiny house is the best they can hope for.

Companies are generating record profits which means the money is there, as time goes on things should get easier for everyone. The standard shouldn't go from living in houses to living in sheds, something is wrong there.

The multiple Route thing really does just confuse people TC, it isn't just you and I hope they change it next time. Not just for situations as this but the amount of people I've seen drop the game after Route A because they "finished" it and don't want to "go through the game again".

I enjoyed it and had no issues with it but it does do something to people's brains. Kinda like me and games with Time Limit based fail states, doesn't matter how easy it is, it just stresses me out to the point of not wanting to play.

Honestly, the cow scene was always the worst part of the film. Even when it was brand new, that was always the bit where my eyes would glaze over. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say the movie has aged badly but it is the kind of film where you need to be in the right mood for it, be the kind of person to appreciate what the film is doing comedy-wise (if your friends aren't feeling it, it could certainly seem embarrassing otherwise) and it helps a lot if you've not seen it a couple times already.

I still regularly quote it to this day but each time I've rewatched, the less I've actively enjoyed it so I know where you're coming from.

I'm very dubious of them dropping the Sentai footage. It'll make the show much more expensive and in turn much more likely to ultimately be cancelled. Unless they're retooling the format too, like going for an older demographic but even then the chances of it hitting mainstream appeal among adults seems like a shot in the dark.

Good for David Yost though, deserves all the good things he can get from the franchise.

TCG has expanded so much that I can't see them making a video game around how it is nowadays without it feeling like a rushed, incomplete mess... which would actually be pretty on-brand for the series nowadays, so sure, go for it, I guess.
I think it could work if they built it around sets. Say the game has the typical goal of beating 8 Gym leaders, this would be where the base set comes in. Meanwhile there's a B story where you also take down Team Rocket (maybe Giovanni and 7 Lieutenants or something) and that would supply those cards. Could even throw in Fossil with some big excavation site and everyone is competing for first dibs on all the new discoveries.

I think the first two would probably make enough of a game for a start though if you sprinkle in some sidequests and special boss fights and things.

It's especially frustrating when Yu-Gi-Oh remains hugely popular and to this day continues to do both, heck even the singleplayer games often have online multiplayer. Pokemon TCG is especially bad though, AFAIK you can only play on PC (possibly mobile now too?) but it's not available on Steam or even Switch. Absolutely stupid.

It's kinda like how Fortnite is the most popular Battle Royale and easily has the best battlepass but nobody will copy it and always end up too scared/greedy despite there being living proof it works.

I played a good couple hundred hours. Was a great game. The fact entire characters could drop from bosses completely f2p no strings attached (as rare as they were) is something I don't think I've seen before or since in a monetized game. In my time playing I got a good few characters to drop, I don't think I ever bought one, I always seemed to end up with another.

Really get a craving to go back to it and I look it up to see if there's any news but nada. So then I look into other games in the genre and none of it seems as interesting. It's a real tragedy, I hope something happens with it in the future to make it playable again.

To further your point, there was actually an oft-forgotten 4th game in the series for the PS2 called Dino Stalker which continues on from plot points that happened in Dino Crisis 2 and starring a couple of returning characters. It's also a light-gun game!

I completely disagree.

It's a quality issue. If all these shows were at least good, let alone great - there wouldn't be a problem. Fact is the majority are mediocre and even the better Marvel shows so far have been just about decent. Star Wars at least has Andor which is straight fantastic television.

People aren't gonna complain about having too much great stuff to watch, but they will when the stuff they're watching is a slog because it's bland.

IMO a consequence of the streaming world is people are training themselves on TV shows via binging in a pretty hardcore way and are gradually learning to tell the difference between good and bad ones - their bars are getting raised higher and they have less patience for crap. It was probably a lot more easily disguised before binge culture and instant access.

In a world without a cutting edge AAA JRPG franchise, it's crazy to me nobody wants to take the mantle.

I've liked every mainline FF I've played but I do think they kinda missed the forest for the trees by shifting to a more action focus. Dragon Quest, Persona and I guess Yakuza are the closest to AAA budget JRPGs on the market and they're mostly pulled kicking and screaming into the new generations of hardware, certainly not the ones boldly going at least.

Anyway to answer the OP - I don't want Persona to stop being turn-based but considering all these companies seem to think action-based is where the money is, I won't at all be shocked if it does.
