Hopefully this terrible experience leads to her reassessing her beliefs so she can stop being a horrible person.

I don't understand why people are so insistent on calling everything "part of the MCU." The MCU is everything that's part of the production. It's a series of movies, show, shorts, ect that not only tie in to each other, but require a final stamp of approval from the executive producers, having their creative direction guided and governed by certain rules. That's it. It doesn't mean nothing else can be connected. It doesn't mean anything else is worthless or noncanon. It doesn't make a title automatically "better" or even more important. The term "MCU" purely refers to this production of titles. No Way Home is an MCU title, but the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies were more important to it than fellow MCU title Civil War was. The Netflix series and Agents of Shield are straight up derived from Avengers and take place in the world created for it. Versions of the characters from these series later end up in proper MCU titles, and AOS straight up uses actors already in the movies, but neither considered to truly be in the MCU. That's why on Disney+ these shows are deliberately left out when viewing MCU, the same as the old Spider-Man movies.

That doesn't mean that they're bad, doesn't mean they're lesser, doesn't mean they're pointless. The MCU isn't higher. Other franchises can connect to the MCU, and even be more important in some cases. Deadpool 3 will be in the MCU, the first two films will be important backstory and relevant buildup to his character, but they're not becoming part of the MCU. Because again, a title is only part of the MCU if it was overseen by the same production team.

I don't understand why this concept is so hard to grasp. Why have morons insisted "Fant4stic is MCU" and other such drivel ever since J Jonah Jameson was in Far From Home? Why do people feel the need to redefine the term that has a specific meaning and function to scope so broad that it's worthless? Are they just butthurt Xmen fans? The movies you like aren't made better or worse due to inclusion in, nor exclusion from the MCU. "MCU" isn't a certification that has any bearing on value.

A great deal of people live here for a long time, go through the extremely extensive vetting process, fill out all the proper documentation, perfectly qualify, but are denied green cards because we have an arbitrary cap on how many are issued a year. The amount we issue should be an order of magnitude higher.

I'm saying that destroying Netflix was very far from their "only purpose." It provides an absolute shitload of advertising for Disney. The returns on that advertising might currently be failing to make up for the costs (even that's debatable as movie viewership is falling for other reasons too), at the end of the day Disney is talked about more. Their IPs are talked about more, and better recognized. That will help them in the long run

You're talking about streaming as if it exists in vacuum. I'd argue that Paramount, Comcast, and HBO are bigger competitors to Disney than Netflix overall

I understand your mindset, it's good to set boundaries and it's good to set expectations for yourself. One year is what you think you'd need, but it's arbitrary. You shouldn't deny your feeling for that sake of sticking to a rule you came up with at a low point. Consider why you wanted to wait a year, and what you felt you needed to work on in that time. If both of you are interested in a relationship, think of what a relationship would look like if you honored the intent of the rule. You want become more independent and have your own routines. Do that. Don't move in together or visit every day. Try to make it only a couple times a week. Live separate lives, with enough open schedule that could become a hangout. If affection is growing, let it. Be as into each other as you're going to be when you're together, but keep some distance. The time apart will just make you happier next time you meet. Stick with it until it starts to feel like you need more time together, then let things progress.

As far as telling her about other women, be careful. It sounds like she enjoys it, but regardless of why that could change very quickly. If she seems to dislike hearing about any particular detail or any particular girl, don't bring it up again

Eh, even if it generally hurt the image people have of them and lowered expectations for future entries with their IPs, it helped the brand in other ways. They have a lot more exposure and presence in conversation. You also can't even begin to estimate how much it hurts their competitors, nor quantify how valuable that is for Disney. Overall it gives them more control over the industry.

Gun sellers should absolutely be civilly liable if they provided weapons to a unhinged person that when on to cause a mass shooting. Their products have such potential for harm that discretion is obligatory, and should legally be a responsibility. Bartenders can be sued if someone they've served gets in an accident or dies, even if the person got more drunk or high elsewhere. They have to make that judgement. It should be the same way for arms retailers.

Sure, some unfair lawsuits will happen. It's hardly enough to actually threaten the industry financially. And you bet your ass these sellers would become a lot more diligent. Even without red flag laws, more terrorists would be caught before they act.

Like everyone said there's no correct answer for every situation. They should definitely be contributing to the household though, whether it's monetary, chores, or even handling appointments with contractors for home improvement projects.

I also like the idea of charging rent but putting it all into a savings account or something, then returning it when it's time to move out. Even for a particularly responsible kid that's good at saving money, it would help them keep their budgeting consistent when they do move out.

There were levels of canon. Anything at a higher level applied to lower levels, but lower level stuff didn't have to apply upwards. The movies were at the top and could ignore anything else, but there were dozens of authors and hundreds of stories that remained consistent to each other. The term "canon" applies in a meaningful way. Disney does things differently. If they label it as official, promo material you view waiting in line for a ride in Disneyland Japan can have just as much impact on the eventual Episode 10 as The Mandolorian would have on a potential "The Young Jedi Adventures: Holiday Special."

I've got everything except maybe a couple of the middle stages for gen 6 and 8 pokemon.

I'm in the camp that it's extremely unnecessary. I can't see any realistic scenario where I would prefer watching Netflix on an undocked Switch vs just my phone. It's also doubtful I'd bring my dock anywhere that didn't have another device that could use Netflix.

Maybe Netflix was trying to play hard ball with the contracts and Nintendo called their bluff? Maybe Hulu gave them a really good deal for some level of exclusivity. Who knows? Nintendo will get worked up and make irrational decisions all the time, but I feel like this at least was calculated.

It's obviously one purpose, I just wonder what their reasoning is. Maybe they were worried that the Switch might end up like the PSP and wanted to ensure watching stuff would be a secondary function rather than a primary one.

Maybe they're still mad that somebody at Netlfix leaked that they were briefly in talks with Nintendo over some shows and rumors got out.

It's essential to have the option to do. That cannot be taken away.

It's unfortunate the a significant majority of parents that choose to homeschool do so for horrible, awful reasons.
