I will never understand peoples obsession with saying that the first is the best one for anything media related. Like this music artists first album is the always the best, the first season of a tv show is always the best, and what this topic is.

Is it a hipster ego thing? Makes them feel so special for thinking the first release to be the best entry always? Im just pointing it out because its always the universally popular stance to choose on the internet for whatever reason, and its kind of obnoxious to see all the time.

Not sure if the lines are set, but I picked up the Ultimate Spider-Bot and Miles said "hey, you're copying my style! ...sort of." Nice callback to the character's comic origins.

Yeah so both Miles and Peter have either specific unique lines for a Spider-Bot, or just a generic gotcha line for others. Which bothers me because that means I missed out on lots of potential dialogue, and theres no way to know which bot you should pick up as one or the other.

I got generic lines as both spidermen from multiple bots, which I assume would not be generic (and more specific to the bot) if I got that one as the other Spidey.

boxoto posted...
I haven't come across any yet, if any exist, but from my experience, the FNSM mission requests seem to be specific to either Peter or Miles.
Also for this, some of the FNSM mission requests can be played as both Peter or Miles, I know for sure at least the Howard one can be done as either. Which makes for even more unique/different dialogue, unless they made them say the exact same stuff for those shared app requests.

Just finished the game, got 100%, and got the platinum. This is easily my favorite super hero game of all time, surpassing the Arkham series (specifically Arkham City) and the 2018 original.

Its not perfect, and it definitely has a couple of issues, mainly QoL stuff that I hope they patch later (stuff like changing time of day, collections for podcasts, being able to change symbiote tendril colors, mission/bases replay etc), and that gadgets were way better in the first (I miss web bombs and suspension matrixes the most).

But as a sequel it completely surpassed my expectations, and I had HUGE expectations coming from the last two games. Traversal and combat were all huge steps up, as well as story missions, side content, and boss fights. Even small things that I did not expect to be worked on at all got improved, like Spider-Bot and the science mini games (corrupted atom models and elemental tiles), super fun stuff that I wish the game had more of actually. Maybe DLC will have more Spider-Bot or science puzzles.

Looking forward to the NG+ update so I can play through the game in Ultimate difficulty with all the suits I unlocked that I barely used, as I mostly use canon suits only on first playthroughs (Advanced 2.0 and Symbiote/Anti Venom only for Peter, Upgraded and Evolved only for Miles).

Can you replay missions at all? I absolutely LOVED the minigame where you DJ as Miles at Coney Island inside the very first (story required) Mysterium.

I was super disappointed to see that the other Mysteriums didn't have that again, wasn't expecting them to be the successor to the Taskmaster challenges from the first game.

Would love to replay that mission so I could play that awesome minigame again, really hope it wasn't a one off thing.

Something I noticed when collecting spider-bots: Peter has unique lines of dialogue for each bot when collected, but Miles has just generic lines like oh cool another spider bot or something like that.

This makes me want to skip any bots I see as Miles and only collect them when Im Peter.

Is there anything else in the game that is like this? Maybe certain events or FNSM app side quests are different when youre Peter or Miles? If so, thats gonna make for some crazy replayability in NG+ (if this game even has it).

My game bugged during the first MJ misson and I had to restart from last check point and do the second half over again. I had already knocked out all the hunters . I think the MJ segment was better than the SM1 missions, but I wouldn't have missed them. Samw with the Hailey mission.
Yeah I legit just quit out because the same thing just happened to me. Gonna just retry to finish it tomorrow, too frustrated to do it all over again now.

It was a really cool segment and like someone else said earlier, it feels like Im Ellie from The Last of Us in a way, which I enjoyed. Much better than the stuff from the first game.

But because I failed once, all the hunters I spent so much time clearing out ALL respawned. Super frustrating, especially with how large the whole area was.

They also had so much important story related interactable stuff that was hidden between the enemy areas in the level, that seems missable and Im not even sure I got them all since its so spread out. Important stuff like all the villains Kraven killed, which is kinda crazy that it isnt shown in a cutscene as that seems pretty important.

Couple of other things I really loved that they improved on:

Spider-Bot is sooo much more fun to use now. Didnt really like using it in the first game, but the extra stuff they added (like the air jets) makes me actually look forward to using it now. Works incredibly well with the DualSense feedback too.

And one of my favorite things from the last game were the lab mini games, the circuit and spectrography puzzles. A couple of hours into the game, I didnt encounter any so I was sad at the possibility that they took them out. Then they hit me with the new improved puzzles, and I LOVE them. I could play a whole separate game with these fresh ideas they keep coming up with for lab activities.

So far Ive encountered tile connection puzzles and corrupted atom puzzles. Hope there are even more different ones later on, but Id be ok with just getting harder versions of those too.

I took the day off yesterday to play it, and I got 8 hours in. This might be my favorite super hero game of all time, its everything I wanted as a sequel but MORE. Insomniac really outdid themselves with this one.

6-7 hours in, I unlocked an entire new skill tree/upgrade system, the health/damage/focus/traversal upgrades. That just blew my mind. The game just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Whats also crazy is that I still dont have the symbiote suit yet, and have no idea when Ill get it. I just finished the Coney Island mission, curious how long it is until I get it. If anyone knows just an overall estimate of how much more until I get there would be nice, no big spoilers or anything like that.

The story is incredible too, really like how they are building up Harry as a character and the nice balance between Peter and Miles in the story.

The webs originally dissolved after an hour. Not sure if that's still canon though.

Mechanical web shooters makes things more challenging for him since he can always run out at any time. Plus it shows his intelligence and allows him to switch things up as there are many different variations of web fluid he can use.

Enclave posted...
How is it clunky story telling?

Not to mention, having them be a mechanical device allows for far more versatility and shows off his intelligence as well. Pete has come up with so many different variations on his webbing over the years and that wouldn't make any real sense with organic webbing.

I've warmed up to mechanical web shooters over the last few years, for reasons like you guys and others have said in here. There are some strengths to it for sure and the arguments supporting it are fair, like having super cool web fluid variations as well as added challenge when they run out.

But I think others in here have also made great arguments against it, especially the whole "selling it and being rich but just deciding not to" aspect of it, which is kind of what I meant by clunky storytelling (and how is that different from bad writing? Just a different word I used, it's basically what I meant originally).

In the end it's personal preference, and one of my biggest reasons for preferring organic web powers is that it makes Spider-Man/Peter Parker a much more relatable superhero, especially as a kid growing up with the Tobey movies. Not everyone can be a high school prodigy genius who can invent their own scientifically crazy web fluid, but if it's a power granted through the spider bite than anyone who was bitten can shoot webs and swing around the city.

It just made it more realistically possible to be like him and added to me liking his character so much, and what made him my favorite super hero growing up. Obviously now grown up I know all the powers from the spider are pure fantasy, but as a kid I didn't know that and loved fantasizing about it.

A couple years ago I saw both The Shining and Doctor Sleep for the first time, within a few days of each other. Both were great, but I enjoyed Doctor Sleep a lot more. Incredible film and does what a sequel should do, expands the world in a bigger and better way.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but oh well. I didnt have nostalgia to cloud my view of The Shining being a classic so that helped for sure.

I always preferred organic web powers rather than the mechanically constructed web shooters.

I grew up with the Tobey movies, so it was a huge surprise to me later on when I found out that mechanical web shooters were both the original and most popular design choice for Spider-Man, the one thats used the most in stories.

Id rather it all just be part of his powers that he got from the spider bite, its clunky storytelling otherwise.

Took me two and a half hours straight and something like 25-28 tries in total I think. Way harder than Fume Knight/Alonne/Midir/Gael etc, imo.

Cant speak for the other From Soft bosses though. Ive havent played Sekiro or Elden Ring yet, and I beat Bloodborne only once long ago when it first came out so I dont remember too much of it (not that it wasnt memorable, I loved it actually, I just have plain awful memory).
