The cases are different. Chutkan comment wasn't even made during this case. In fact it was made before she even got the case

Cannon's issues are all during the case that she was given. So I need to look into it more to see if it was favoritism or not.

You say favoritism. That might be there, but that is why I need to look at the case more to get more information. If that is all she has done then yes that is clear favoritism.

The Chutkan one is more straightforward because the statement wasn't even in this case. It's nothing against Chutkan. She has made some rulings for and against both parties so far, but that doesn't erase the issue that could arise with her statement.

Ah. Well in most cases I would say no, but as with the J6 case this is involving a former president in a volatile climate so I'm leaning towards it would probably be better if she isn't the judge going forward.

I need to do more research and see what all she did and the reasons given to be more certain.

Okay joking aside I get the point with the gore. It has gotten a kind of excessive especially with how drawn out some of things are. It's Mortal Kombat though. Gore has kind of been one of the main selling points since it first came out. So, I'm not really sure what can be done about that.

yeah you're right, i updated my post. i have had poor luck with rapid tests before though, it took 3 tests before i tested positive last time I had covid.

Some places are reporting a 60-70% accuracy for the tests though, but I can find some that say up to almost 90%. So yeah I don't know.

If it is just being appointed by Trump that isn't quite the same thing. Now if the judge did or said something that could be construed as biased then I think it is fair to ask if the judge should be presiding over the case.

That's the best I can say without more information.

True. My main concern is it somehow being worse, but I get your point. Violence to a degree is probably inevitable in thus case.

Not a Trump lapdog. I didn't even want him to win in 16 nor did I ever like his rhetoric. His rhetoric was/is still problematic because well it helped lead to the J6 issue.

I'm more concerned with potential violence after the ruling.

the entire point of the judiciary is to apply an even standard to all citizens. trump doesn't get to demand special treatment and be accommodated. his cult will react violently to any attempt to hold him accountable and we damn sure won't and shouldn't be rewarding him for overtly criminal behavior. if he didn't want to go on trial for traitorous behavior he shouldn't have committed traitorous acts. the judge absolutely should not recuse herself and it appears she absolutely won't.

Right and she shouldn't have made that comment. There was no reason to make that, and regardless of her intent it could paint her as biased. If Trump is convicted in a trial she presides over I feel the backlash would be worse than if it was presided over by someone that hadn't made comments like that.

the trump cult will always question the integrity of the trial, they don't matter though and they will have to accept the results or go to prison like the ones that fucked around on 1/6 found out the hard way. centuries of judicial precedent won't be changing for a fat manchild who tried to overthrow democracy.

This isn't a standard trial though. The results of this trial could have far reaching and potentially violent ramifications. If the judge can be seen as having a bias then the judge needs to be different.
