Yes and no. I'm a janitor in a hospital, so going into work sucked all the dicks in the world.

Being at home with my wife and not having to leave the house was very nice. We saved a bunch of money and went on a killer vacation to Portugal after everything was lifted.

It was also interesting to walk the streets and take public transportation every day and see next to no humans at all. However, a lot of the homeless population of Montreal congregated to the metros during the cold months, so constantly being harassed was less than fun.

1. Fly to an international hub with a popular red-light district and sleep with a prostitute. 2. Fly to another continent and repeat the process.
3. Fly home, prep house/yard with alarms.
4. Sit back with an iced tea and watch Bob Ross paint happy trees.

No way It will make it anywhere near the first location before the prostitute in the first location sleeps with other people. With any luck a few of the patrons will be from other countries/continents, increasing the time it takes to walk. This time can also be extended if the patrons she sleeps with get around a lot. Meanwhile prostitute #1 is still sleeping with people, and you have prostitute #2 in a different country/continent doing the same thing to tie it up for the rest of your days.

Why would I sleep with a second prostitute? Once I pass it on to the first one, what's the point of the second hooker? It wouldn't have made it to the first hooker before I sleep with the second one....

I was only active from 07 to 2011. Since then, Ive been a reservist. Our resources are the same as Active Duty, because the Reserves and National Guard are called up to deploy just as much, if not more than Active Duty.

You guys get only $2000/yr for school? We get 36 months of benefits based on how much Active Duty you have. 36 months gets you 100%. And it goes down from there. At the lowest, you get 60% of your education paid for. But it all culminates to 36 months of education benefits.

Like I said, I was only a reservist, so that's all WE were entitled to. I'm assuming Reg force gets better bennies.

School in Canada is also extremely cheaper than in the states. McGill, one of the best schools in the country for science, math, and music, is only like, $2000 a semester. Quebec knows how to protest to keep them tuition rates down!

Yes. I learned drums.

To be fair, I'm 38 and have played piano since I was 8, guitar since I was 11, and have played in multiple rock/punk bands. I knew how beats should sound, but I never fully took up playing and practicing the drums until last year.

So, yes, I'm pretty good at drums, but I had a massive advantage due to my musical knowledge.

For you, I'd suggest starting with synth. It's a lot easier to learn the notes and theory because the keys are laid out for you. It's very intuitive.

This isnt Nam or Desert Storm. The resources to help people are out there. The vast majority want nothing more to do with the government (thats a topic for another day), and simply dont use the resources.

Its the same for people still serving too though. You can come out of the military with so many certifications, credentials, and licenses. But people just dont for some reason. Hell, I made sure to take advantage of it. I have my FCC GROL license, my Lean Six Signa Green Belt, and am working on my Project Management Professional Cert, all at government expense.

Theres no reason why people should leave the military with nothing. Unless they decided to leave with nothing.

After I got out, I wanted nothing to do with the gov/military stuff afterward. Was it stupid of me? Probably, but even trying to get the $2000 per year for university was such a headache I eventually said fuck it and stopped trying.

I think they do it on purpose, knowing only the most fully committed will sift through all the bullshit red tape to get the "goodies."

I was also only a reservist (still did a 9 month combat tour in Afghanistan in 06), so the help when I got out was drastically downsized from what a reg force member gets.

I'm currently reading two books. My work book is The Stand (I've read it before, so it's easy to put down if I get called to do something) by Stephen King, and at home I'm reading "Fall On Your Knees" by Ann-Marie MacDonald.

I'm loving fall on your knees. Her narrative style that switches between past tense and resent tense was jarring at first, but I've grown to like it. It's also neat how she switches narrative perspectives between characters mid-paragraph.

I admit, it's not for everyone, but hot damn is it great for me.
