I fail to see how mainstream reviews being critical constitute the 'mainstream media' attempting to 'shut this thing down'. It's being played in theatres everywhere.

creativerealms posted...
No one has even tried to shut it down.
If it wasn't clear based on the context, I didn't mean this literally, as in, the movie being made illegal to show or view. I mean how many major media outlets are telling people the movie is terrible and you shouldn't watch or support it for various reasons, including reasons not actually related to the content of the movie itself.

This movie is extremely popular among Republican voters. I'm not saying nobody else can simply enjoy it. But it's rather obvious that this movie is being frequented by Conservatives.
While this movie has been made an issue of politics regardless of what the contents of the movie actually are, is there any real statistics showing that its success on a relatively small budget compared to the modern Hollywood blockbuster is fueled mostly by right leaning by conservatives?

I'm sure most people who have already decided whether they like or dislike the movie from a political angle haven't even bothered watching it. This is not specific to this situation, this is common among many types of movies, including people who claim they are supporting a movie for political reasons (and those movies still end up bombing despite large amounts of online political support).

I feel like the mainstream medias initial attempt to shut this thing down accidentally "Streisand effected" it. Now people want to watch it just because they want to know what all the fuss is about.

Don't use Twitter, but that's a really low number for daily views. Would they miss out on all the ad revenue for those limits?
FYI Twitter as a company has always been bleeding money. It's value has always been in its stock, because Twitter is influential and culturally relevant, not because Twitter as a business was profitable. The previous CEOs ran Twitter with this in mind, doing whatever possible to keep the stock value high while almost ignoring the prospect of making Twitter profitable as a company.

Elon supposedly trying do the opposite, focus on making Twitter profitable as a business. All these things he's trying that upsets the userbase is apparently steps taken to try and achieve that.

new fate game announced

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7oWArTuIz4

set in the edo period, MC is musashi's adopted son and student

jeanne alter is here for some reason which is odd for fgo reasons but type/moon's broken its own rules before
I see some people complaining about Jalter, but almost none Musashi, when Musashi is also in a situation that makes her being summoned problematic if considering current canon. Yesh, I get that Musashi is more "in theme" with the time period, so people are choosing to ignore her.

If anything, not counting when she was created, Jalter has been summoned 3 times already outside of Chaldea's summoning system that I can think of, once at a Christmas event before becoming an Avenger, the same previous Jalter summoning herself in the event where she learns to paint and creates a reverse harem for herself, then there are possibly 2 Jalter's summoned to Chaldea as one becomes Santa Lily and there is never an explanation for why later another adult Jalter is around, then a completely different Jalter being summoned to Pseudo-Singularity Shinjuku.

Of all of these, Shinjuku is the one that demonstrates that, even if possibly requiring specific circumstances, it's possible for another unique Jalter to be summoned outside of Chaldea's system even a Jalter is currently summoned at Chaldea.

Right now the biggest "danger" AI imposes is the average joe being able to imitate content from big companies for free, which is why so many companies are trying to get AI regulated and shut down, or at least, less accessible by the general public.

Yeah, there is people faking news and spreading misinformation, but you don't need AI to do that. People have been doing that just fine without AI. People won't become more gullible, they'll just be equally as gullible as before.

Don't the Gerudo typically worship and make that rare male baby their king due to their culture, or give them some other high position within their society, although all the times we know of it, it turned out to be an incarnation of Ganondorf.

Also, Ganondorf usually doesn't destroy the Gerudos anyway unless they actively oppose him.

How you deal with quitting a chemical varies from person to person obviously.

3 pots of coffee a day though? I think most people who aren't in the medical profession would also be surprised if your health didn't take a hit from doing that.

You mean the original they shut down to make you play Overwatch 2, or Overwatch 2 which is still playable now even though they cancelled PvE which was supposedly the reason the game is a sequel, but was really a pretense to switch the game to a F2P model, then the PvE was likely cancelled because Activision realized that matter how amazing the PvE was, for the time it was taking to develop it wouldn't bolster their F2P sales significantly in the long term so it wasn't worth making.

That said, Overwatch 2 is still playable.

This isn't in defense of Overwatch 2, I'm just saying it's still there if you want to play it.

Surprised he isn't actively developing anymore. Was Pikmin his last new IP? Man that was ober 20 years ago now.
I think a lot of his more recent personal projects at Nintendo either got cancelled or failed to profit. So I don't think this decision was his own.

I think last I heard, his position within the company was changed from a development advisor, to what is essentially a company mascot (with a much grander title), but that was quite a while ago, I don't know if anything's changed.

It was always going to go through.

There is too much money involved, from big companies no less.

When's the last time you heard about a well known big company trying to buy another company and it was actually stopped.

When's the last time you've heard big government trying to stop big companies from becoming too big, or approaching becoming monopolies by buying other big companies?

It's been quite a while.
