I'll probably do the Ghouls 'n Ghosts trilogy. Between horror movies and work, it's difficult to find time for Halloween gaming.

They wanted Shaleene Woodley. They went with a digital version. For a long time now, the strategy has been to either make Mary Jane Watson unattractive or absent. They've mostly chosen absence. When Spider-Man gets an attractive girlfriend, she's either Gwen or some original character. There's just an aura of offensiveness surrounding MJ like tits, red hair, and being a disempowered damsel in distress are all that she can ever be and the only way to improve her as a character is to downgrade her looks.

That infamous statuette redefined her as a character and a concept. She's been a pariah ever since. Spider-Man can have an attractive girlfriend as long as she isn't a redhead and isn't named Mary Jane.

As a child, I found her mildly annoying. As an adult, I found out that DC pushed Catwoman aside to allow Harley to be the female lead of the Batman universe. Then she really made my shit list.

I hope she experiences fatigue, but that's being optimistic. She literally outsells Batman for merchandising.

Black Widow was not forgettable. She should have received a solo movie before Captain Marvel did. Captain Marvel's backlash was because Marvel tripped over themselves to talk about how the first female superhero was the strongest. If she hadn't cut to the front of the line like that, nobody would have bothered. Just like people didn't get mad about Black Widow getting a solo movie. Just like people didn't get mad about Wasp sharing equal billing with Ant-Man.

It really is insulting to Scarlet Johansson that they stepped over her and brought in a newcomer. In all honesty, I think the only reason she ever got a movie was so that they could introduce her replacement in Yelena. It's kinda funny how she was the only original Avenger not to receive a solo movie. (Oh, I'm sorry. I guess Hawkeye exists so to avoid it being so obvious that the only woman on the team is the only one not getting their own movie.)

I don't like people who neglect others, then make a big promotion of things once they get called out on it. You had your chance.

Yes, and no. We pulled out at the worst time and for the worst reason.

The day after we killed Bin Laden, we should have made arrangements to get our prisoners of war back and exit. They would have been glad to have had us out of their country. That's all anyone in Afghanistan ever wanted: for us to go away. We could have walked around carrying that W in the win/loss column. Instead, we remained for a decade. Why? To pull a Manifest Destiny on Afghanistan and turn it into a democratic, predominantly Christian nation? We could have done it... in forty years. No, we stuck around because of the war contracts and profiteering. And why did we finally pull out? To end needless bloodshed and death? To rebuild the American economy? Hell no. Trump signed the withdrawal scheduled the pull out so that he could pin the war's forfeiture on Biden. Only that backfired too because Americans had long since given up on the war and simply wanted it to end. It didn't make Biden a hero. It didn't make him a villain. Nor did it raise or lower Trump's stock. The war ended because of a Republican's political pissing contest and few even cared because they just wanted the war to be over.

The news had a week and a half of field days where they blamed everything in Afghanistan on the US being there and pulling out. After that, we just stopped talking about it.

I played it once and beat it over the course of a three-day Memorial Day weekend. That was probably four or five years ago.

Fun Fact: The reason the game's so unforgiving is because the programmers forgot to put item shops on all levels except the first one. If the game didn't kick you back to the start after a loss, it would be impossible to beat.

Covenant Eyes? That sounds like something a comic book writer with a pet hatred for religion would come up with. Reality is slowly becoming fiction in the worst possible ways.

The only game that really let me down that I was eager to play as Mario is Missing. I was expecting Super Mario World Lite with Luigi as the only playable character. I thought it was going to be the game that tided players over until a proper Super Mario World sequel was made.

Instead, it was just an "edutainment" game. And there was no Super Mario World 2 in the works. Even the game released under that title was an unrelated spinoff starring Yoshi. I love Yoshi's Island. But it's not a sequel to Super Mario World anymore than it is a sequel to Donkey Kong Country.

Not every character needs to be a sexpot. DC has a weird thing going on where they gave Cheetah a Freddy Krueger face because they're desperately afraid of "furry" characters, but she still has the body of a porn star. Amanda Waller was literally nicknamed the Wall because of her imposing physical figure. Yet, they turned her into a Halle Berry type.

I'm all for sexy characters. But it's not like *every* woman needs to be one. I'd understand if she were the only Black female in the DC universe. That would be a pretty bad look if White girls were skinny and pretty and the one Black girl was thick, older, and unattractive. But I'm pretty sure that isn't the case.

Nothing on the level of Little Samson or Clayfighter 63 and 1/3: Sculptor's Cut. I have a copy of Ninja Gaiden Trilogy which now goes for more than $100. It still has the $15 price sticker on it from when I bought it a decade or so ago.
