It's generally good on supports, basically units that you wouldn't mind having Effect Res on anyway. Bear in mind that it doesn't synergise with Kafka teams though as DoTs don't scale with crit.

Use him on a high level MoC floor and report back to describe how whelmed you are.

You don't need top tier 5* supports to solo sustain MoC 10. I've done it with a Jingliu hyper carry comp and a Kafka comp - one had Lynx solo sustain and the other was either Bailu or Natasha. It depends on the variation and enemies but it can definitely be done, whilst still getting 30 stars.

Inert Salsotto will still be her best planar set, so you'll need at least 50% crit rate to activate its effect (although that can come from sources other than substats like traces, light cone and party buffs, you can generally get away with not having to run a crit rate main stat body piece). Other than that, crit damage, attack % and speed - in that order. She's generally less reliant on speed than most other DPS but you'll still ideally aim for at least the mid-130's.

Emet-Selch is probably the best written antagonist in the whole series. On the other end of the scale I struggle to think of a single redeeming quality Mewt possesses. I guess you could say it's at least plausible behaviour for a bullied, wimpy kid with so much power suddenly thrust upon him.

Very interested to see what the final iteration of Ryan Mei ends up being to make her an attractive kit to pull for given that Harmony is the most encroached upon path of other 5* supports. Just buffs alone won't cut it considering what Luocha and Fu Xuan can do beyond simply healing and shielding respectively, but that Nihility style break debuffing would be a start.

I don't think anyone's suggesting it's only fair to vote if you're intimately familiar with both characters/games. In a world where everyone has played both games though, Auron may still win but the difference is more likely to be a few votes than a quintupling.

Yes, this has been happening all contest. A straight up popularity contest is a rough format for games most of the board hasn't played. Probably the only reason Estinien and Emet won their first matches is because they were up against anti-vote magnets.

Have to say my favourite Jingliu interaction is the camera mode exploit that permanently removes her blindfold (until you leave the current area anyway). She just stares... unblinking.

I'd say it's more like playing the first couple of hours of something like VIII or XIII' and then basing your opinion of Squall or Lightning on that alone. Proportionally speaking anyway.

I would be rating them significantly lower based off of ARR alone. ARR Alphinaud in particular I would probably give a 5 at best, but as a whole I'd score him as a 9, such is the effect the following expansions have on his character.

I know people will inevitably scoff at the notion of 100 hours not being long enough for an accurate depiction of a character, but XIV is just unique within its series in that respect.

I guess it's ok if you don't have Perfect Timing, or if you really want another source of Effect Res on an Abundance character.

I mainly bring it up because there is a relic set in Genshin called Emblem of Severed Fate that provides enhanced energy recharge/regen that is run by a lot of supports, and yes, certain carries reliant on having their ult more often. Now, not to say this would be a like-for-like case, but there's a fair amount that translates between the two games, such as relic formats, so I can't just dismiss the possibility out of hand.

I was kind of hoping they wouldn't release an ER relic set. Unless it's been given numbers to make it deliberately weaker than basically all existing relic sets, I could easily see it becoming a must have on every support character, perhaps even some carries, and take a lot of variety out of the game. At the very least I can see most character's BiS becoming 2-piece ER and 2-piece Speed set.

Yeah, I don't know if the same applies to other Hoyoverse games, but for Star Rail at least the community seems completely unable to keep it in their pants in regards to unmarked spoilers immediately after new content drops. Especially in contrast to other live service games.

In lefty's defence I'd say he's pretty considerate of European timezones. It's pretty rare to get a very late round here and much less common than they used to be. Even if the actual reason for this was because late rounds pretty clearly distort results (for someone who cares about stats), it's a benefit all the same. The only one who consistently gets the short end of the stick is MZero and it's hard to accommodate for one person in a contest with dozens of participants.

I wonder if the likely reception has anything to do with Nitara having probably the fewest lines in the story of any playable character or if that's just a coincidence.

At least 90% of the time you're just hearing Cristina Vee anyway.
