When the next nearest town if ~5 miles away and you work, have family or shop there.. walking, biking etc becomes a ridiculous thing. And once you start talking about families and children.. Yeah, good luck.

Biking 5 miles is totally a reasonable distance to ride on a bike. My dad use to ride way more then that daily, and still bikes that far most days.

Try shopping for a family of 4 or 5 using the buss or a bike or walking etc.

It's pretty easy to carry goods for 5 people on a bike, if you have some good saddle bags. Even easier if you have a cargo bike. Lots of people do this around the world.

A lot of these fallacious assumptions rest on the idea that cars replaced trains and walking. No, cars replaced horses and buggies and just horses.

Are you serious? Cars are way more common then horses and buggies or just buggies before the car was invented.

Given the majority of US electricity is still generated through fossil fuels...

Sure, but:

A) Oil is only one of those fossils fuels, and by far the smallest of them, and
B) Fossil fuels are becoming a smaller and smaller part of the US electricity.

It makes no sense for oil companies to try to convince people to change from ICE vehicle, to EVs.

Road repairs are exclusively paid for by the gas tax. How else do you propose to address EVs not paying gas tax?

Replace it with a vehicle weight tax. Since Vehicle weight has the biggest effect on the road deterioration caused by the vehicle.

Are they actually a PHB or some other supplement race or are they just covered in some appendix somewhere? I only have 4 5e books.

They were in Volo's Guide to Monsters, and are also in Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse. I believe setting specific versions are in Eberron - Rising from the Last War, and Explorer's Guide to Wildemount. Though Wildemount was made by WoTC with Critical Role as it's Critical Role's setting.

Orcs usually aren't playable without a monster template and the game probably doesn't want to have to put in the monster template rules just for one race.

5e doesn't have monster templates (edit: for players that is). Orcs don't really function much different then any other rraces.

It's a pretty extensive setting book about Absalom with a lot of locations and adventures seeds. Though I probably wouldn't get if you are just planning to have it start in Absalom, and spend most of the time away, due to the price.

A big turn from the two party system, which would likely require a constitutional amendment, so good luck getting that passed. Make the House be elected pasted on the number of votes they receive, nationwide rather then by district, and allowing people to vote for as many different candidates as they like, though they can only give one per candidates. The rule on voting for as many candidates as they like should be applied to the Senate and Presidential elections, but the presidential election should be nationwide, and based purely on popular vote.
