Yeah, I'm 44 with a wife and kids and have to get up at 6 am basically every weekday. Midnight isn't really that late but it's certainly not early to me.

I was a control room operator in the electrical industry worked 8-8, 3 days a week then 4 then 3 then 4, etc etc for about 5 years. Pay was good with lots of days off buy the work days were rough.
